Lol you hate this because of the lack of a numpad? I just got this keyboard. This thing is AMAZING. Sounds great, feels fantastic compared to modern shitty Zoomer tier keyboards. Would recommend if you want this for the Commodore vibes. Joystick peripherals are super loose though so get a different joystick if you're looking for that as a combo. Everything else about this is fantastic.

Not sure if you've seen it but they released a numpad for their keyboards! It funtions as a standard numpad aswell as a regular calculator. I'd be curious to see if having that changes your opinion about the keyboard.

25:16 optional larger bore for certain style power connectors. Also the "square" where the case sticker goes is etched on that same panel, below the punch-out for the expansion port. Regarding the extra edge off the back, I think it is an intentional style (and to help distinguish the "front" versus the back, so that the logo is oriented the right way). Another thing to check on the reset switch is press F7 (to list the SD card file content) and you should see the activity light flicker around the reset switch. It's unfortunate the cables for the power/reset are so long- you can wedge the cables to the side around the PSU and route the PSU cable below the VERA board. Great video, thanks for preparing that. Some folks might appreciate a video on installing the extra RAM and VIA chips.

Almost the same sound profile as the Famicom/SNES versions despite having the SA keycaps IMO. I'd get one if I didn't own the Famicom version already.

I just got mine and it types so smoothy. This is (so far) the best keyboard i've had since an old Model M my grandmother used.

Almost all my Infocom Games are in pristine condition. I think I even have a few in shrink-wrap. I collected most in the 80's with the intent to play them all, but I never got around to most. They still sit on my shelf. I even have Fooblitsky. Planetfall was a lot of fun. I have Stationfall, but have never played it. I'll probably just sell them all.

Any way to program media keys like play/pause? I'm surprised it doesn't have them and only has a volume knob, otherwise it would have been an instant purchase for me

The problem with the commodore magic voice was that it was a solution looking for a problem. The commodore was pretty good at producing speech without an external adapter.

For everybody who ever had to use their feet to press "space" in certain games, those buttons are godsent. And I gotta admit, it kinda looks flimsy in images, but it feels really good when I actually use it. Loving the clicking noises.

From what I saw, the joystick uses the same mechanism as they have for their SNK (NeoGeo CD) gamepad, but instead of the thumstick with an actual stick. Perhaps in that case that horrible deadzone is not as obvious.

@@GRayDefender well you have to promote the hell out of it like every else does. Organic doesn't work against algorithms much. Hence why people promote their video on Facebook, reddit, Twitter, etc. That's the paradox, it takes a long time to build enough critical mass such that YT shows your stuff even to your subscriber- of which l am one. And still l had no idea you uploaded more Merlin videos. I have to go looking. And as you know, tubers search routine is not very good. Add to that, ML for 6502 is niche, and 128 is more niche than C64. I know people on FB were excited to hear somebody was starting videos on Merlin for 128. Maybe doing a C64 Merlin edition will get more people rolling to your channel.

Thank you so much for documenting this so well. I just unboxed my case tonight, looked at the un-numbered diagram... and immediately went looking on KZfaq for a video. Is the white X on your top supposed to be white, or is it just more protective film? I pulled mine all off... before seeing that part of your video.
