this siren replaced a Sentry 15V2T but the motor was dying of the 15V2T. so they replaced it with this siren.

UPDATE: As of last year, this siren is inactive! The power to the building was cut, making this siren inoperable and no longer active.

I take it the impeller is shot, those constant jolts of trying to get it up to full rpm caused the impeller to separate from the motor? Id like to see a follow up update on this thing lol

Well it was taken down because the intake caught a piece of fiberglass and it caused a microcrack in the rotor. Then when they were sounding it at SirenCon, it again caught another piece of fiberglass and making the crack worse, ending up causing the rotor to weld itself to the stator. Also there may not be another update of this thing since it may never run again

@@OhioOutdoorWarningSirens oof, the rotor cracked and snapped in 2? the stator and rotor is pretty much trashed, dang that sucks! And as far as I’m aware of, this is the only P50 in private collection. The stator might be savable but those scars definitely need to be looked at, I can imagine that rotor is toast.

@@OhioOutdoorWarningSirens mhm that crack split enough where the rotor made contact with the stator while rotating at near full rpm, having that piece rewelded ain’t going to be easy either.

@NickSilcox3 yeah according to my friend the rotor went from spinning at 52 rotations per second to 0 in less than a tenth of a second. That thing will needs thousands of dollars in repairs if it even can still work
