2002 looks like Gamecube renders but in animation

To be honest both are terrible. Not as much because of the animation, i just hate the plot, the script and the animation is so uncomfortable

I feel REALLY bad for the production team for this movie...it's clear in the 2002 showreel that while not perfect, there was definitely considerable effort being put into it...but then someone stole all of their hard work and they were left with having to do this rapid patch job of stiff motion capture animation. This movie could have had the potential to be a charming cult movie in a similar vein to Hoodwinked...now it's just lauded for being one of the worst animated movies of all time.

I never noticed it before, but the eyes never move in the finished product. And the faces have absolutely no subtle movements besides the mouth moving.

You can clearly tell that in 2002 version they wanted or at least tried to make a good cartoon movie, while in final 2012 version they just wanted to finally get rid of it and released it no matter how bad it looked.

Once you learn how much of a dumpster fire this movies production was I think you will really sympathize with it because this movie was practically doomed to fail. So basically the director Larry Kasanoff (who is a grade A sack of shi human being btw) came up with a story about how the original stuff was stolen however this was debunked as it was a cover up for the investors as the movie was already delayed by several years, Larry also wanted to use Motion Capture because he had no background in animation or any understanding of it. He basically wanted to streamline the process and he'd probably use ai if it was the modern day. Of course aside from that there was constant employee mistreatment forcing them to clean his dogs diarrhea while laughing at the poor woman he made do it. He also seemed to be disgustingly horni for lady x, apparently he also had a website prior to this and it's unrelated I do believe, where 13 year olds could share secrets and photos, so not only does he mistreat his employees he's a P3dofile. Do you want to kill this guy? I sure do. Hyperbole obviously but unfortunately there's more as he's also incompetent as he shuffled people from jobs they were meant to do to other jobs and got pissed when they didn't perform well in those new jobs as though he thought they could just do any job and he didn't understand the difference between some of them. Honestly it's a miracle this movie was even finished. So just to reiterate Harry Kasanoff is: A P3dofile abusive towards employees he also had a shock caller on his dog so animal abuser and he's an idiot, I feel so bad for this movie and the people who had to work under him

2:04 I love how in the original he's human. And it makes alot more sense now that he was purposefully backing him up towards the train then the weasel asking "you despise me don't you?"
