What? The ALZ virus literally expands the human mind. You know what happens with a bigger brain? Longer waits between the connections of Neuro pathways. Leading to slower cognitive function. So much so that it could render us unable to form words or even talk... The primitive humans are infected. (Maybe SOME were jus trained this way) They even deliberately say so in the movie. Referencing the virus directly....

What I thought was impactful about that scene was the juxtaposition between how drastically human and ape intelligence/civilization has developed respectfully. Noa and May are both able to look down that telescope and realize their position and scale in the universe and even time. I believe this is one of the reasons May is able to bury her resentment of apes towards the end.

My ultimate Limit as a creator of any Art is that I am afraid to add nothing worthwile and/or new. I look at the overwhelming number of pieces in every genre and how it is impossible for me to ever enjoy even a percentage of it during my Lifetime and I become hestitant to invest so much time, energy and money to add to this shere neverending pile because…. why exactly? Who will ever care? And aren’t there already dozens, thousand or even Millions of Pieces who said everything I have to say so much better?
