It is definitely fine to use the first one! It's the least risky option for a timed solve, but knowing the other two algorithms really helps because they’re always available when I don't want to rotate. By the way, when using the first algorithm, it’s ideal to solve it at the back, so I usually make a y' rotation instead of y!

I have a list of cubes that I want but don't know which one to get: RS3M V5 ballcore Weilong V10 20 core springs Weilong V9 8 core Weilong V9 20 core Tornado v3 Gan 12 maglev uv or leap Gan 11 m pro I have inaccurate turning,don't mind fast cubes, like strong magnets but not a cube too uncontrollable. I'm neutral about corner twists and can always tighten the cube and very cautious about the quality of the cube. I'm more of a feeling guy so I mind performance but not too much and care about the feeling of the cube. I have a budget of about 75$ More info: I constantly lock up on the v10 standard, find the meilong decent and find the tornado mid idk if it varies from setup.

Thanks for asking! First of all I don't have all the cubes from the list you provided, I have V10 Maglev ballcore, V9 8-ballcore, and Tornado V3 flagship. But based on the description of your preference, I think we have similar preference in terms of the feeling of the cube. Personally, V9 8-ballcore is my absolute main, it has strong magnets (probably the strongest in the market?), forgives inaccurate turning (I loosened the screw by around 90 degrees from the factory settings), good quality (V3 and V10 are relatively more fragile), and its controllability suits aggressive turning style. Based on others' review, I think RS3M V5 Ballcore is also a good alternative, but I haven't bought it yet. But ever since I got my V9 8-ballcore, I never switched my main cube. Since it seems like we have similar turning style, I'd suggest going for it!

Hmm I prefer smooth turning so I use Martian and a bit of Lunar on my V9, but some may prefer more controllable feeling so Galaxy or Nebula can help! As for settings, I set my V9 to 3 clicks and I loosened the screw by around 90 degrees on each side! (I always find Moyu factory settings of center travel distance a bit too tight)

Yeah I had heard about others' V10 breaking before I got mine so I was very careful with taking the pieces out. I set all the tension settings to the lowest so that it's easier to take it out. Then I turn the top layer for 45 degrees, pull away the 2 corner pieces, and take the edge piece out very gently (I tried not to force it and just wiggled it). I hope that helps!

The reason why the corner cutting is worse than the V9 is because the corners are a bit different. On the V9, it was more rounded (?) than the V10. For this reason, the V9 has more corner twists than the V10. Also sorry for bad english.

Question: should I upgrade my v9 (same edition as you use in this video) for a v10 maglev ball core or a tornado v3 pioneer? This is my dilemma
@JusTwistCubing
@JusTwistCubing Ай бұрын
I have the Tornado flagship version, and as a V9 main, I prefer the V10 over the Tornado flagship. If you are like me who enjoys the way V9 turns, I am not sure if you will enjoy the Tornado as much. Cuz the magnet strength is much weaker (even at strongest piece-to-piece magnet strength), and the turning on Tornado has more friction (it feels like you have to make a complete turn to move a layer, whereas with the V9 you just need a push). I am not sure how different the pioneer is from the flagship though so I am not sure if my comparison is relevant. For the V10, I didn't enjoy it that much at first, because it feels very distinct from V9. But after almost a month, I actually enjoy it a lot now and get similar times on both cubes! Hope that helps!
@gamerderubiks
@gamerderubiks Ай бұрын
@@JusTwistCubing Thank you! Flagship is probably very similar to the pionner so it really doesn't matter. I had a chance to test an pionner before. It had a TON of lubs so it felt soft but kinda hard to turn. As by now, I have just like 3 3x3, so I don't have any references of turns and all of that. Because of this, I was "sad" buying the version 10 of the same cube as I have, thinking that, aside the new adjustment sistem, it would be the same cube. It's like buying an IPhone 14 and then an IPhone 15. Now, knowing that v9 and v10 are a lot different, I'm ok at buying it. For this reasons and that breaking v3 core stuff, I decided that i'll buy v10. This helped a lot!
@JusTwistCubing
@JusTwistCubing Ай бұрын
Yeah I was surprised by how distinct V10 feels compared to V9, and more surprised by how both cubes have become my main (depends of if my hands feel tired). If you are looking for a cube that feels different then V10 shouldn't disappoint you even though they are in the same series! Probably another thing to consider is that the V3 came out in 2022, we can't really tell when the V4 is arriving. Im glad it helped and good luck!

I personally hate strong magnets. It ruins the soft feel and smooth feeling. I removed all the corner to core magnets on my gan 14 and liked it more. Less clicky, and more smooth. Thats probably just me, I dont think anyone else would like that. On another unrelated note, I think I have a very very aggressive turning style, but I can do 100+ solves on a cube that people say has bad corner cutting without a single lockup. I think people are becoming much too over reliant to corner cutting. Its like they cant maintain control without good corner cutting and magnets. Edit: I realized if done right with corner magnets, it can make it soft too, but many companies are making it too strong. I hate edge magnets
@JusTwistCubing
@JusTwistCubing Ай бұрын
Yeah I think it all comes down to personal preference and what our hands are used to. I stopped cubing for a few years and when I came back to it I found it quite hard to adapt to the strong magnet strength in modern cubes. But after some months of practicing, I struggle with accuracy when I pick up cubes that aren't as magnetic lol.
