I the time of high inflation- Aldi is providing value and good competition to help keep prices down. I go to Aldi and get an armful of goods for under $20, and would only get a couple of goods from Woolworths or Coles.

I always shop at Aldi . It’s some 30 dollars cheaper for the same products at save mart . Sure there’s not as big a selection but I buy what feeds me well

Only snobby people will judge you and make fun of you for buy off brand or alternatives. Who honestly gives a crap. Food is food. If it's cheap, affordable and tastes and or functions the same or better, good. Whenever I shop, I'm not even registering the brand or company I'm buying from. All I do is "right I need ham, there's ham. I need cheese, there's cheese. Milk, done". If it's cheap, that saves me a ton of money.

Aldi is awesome only a fool would waste their money in a place like Kroger, giant eagle, and the other big guys Aldi's has the best chocolate I have ever eaten. the Mac and cheese is amazing. The meat is always fresh and tender.

Knockoff food always tastes like garbage

On a blind taste test done on hundreds of foods and drinks most of the time the named brands don't come top. So the name brands are not the best just the most expensive.

I like how Aldi took Jaffa Cakes and renamed them as, Jaffa Cakes. They're twice the size of the originals, more in packet, half the price and just as nice. McVities have taken the p1ss with their shrinkflation.

I always thought that the contra roting drums would wear out the clothes & almost certainly the machine needed an overload cut out in case of overloading whereas a traditional front loader doesn't (if overloaded the clothes go around as a solid mass and motor load is reduced). So I didnt' consider buying one for long.

I have always loved Dr.Pepper and more recently the cream soda Dr.Pepper. But my Wife is a Manage at a Grocery store and she brought home their store brand “Laura Lynn” colas and now Im absolutely addicted to those. They have their own flavour apart from Coke or Pepsi. We go through about 4 12packs a week. This past week someone forgot to order them and we weren’t able to have any and it that really sucked. Never thought I’d like a store brand cola but here we are.

In Germany where I am from the knockoff Version of Fanta is called Flirt and IT tasts exaktly the Same and it is very cheap.

I work in film as a set dresser. Also design in theatre. There are so many materials you can reuse or try to pull from something that already exists. I do see so much waste on sets. Started to encourage art directors to consider donating their sets to creative reuse spaces or haunted houses. I do think we need to think more creatively still on how to manipulate materials/objects we already have to create conceptual designs. Honestly, some of the most creative work I’ve seen or have produced has been through limitations.

You can shop at Marks and Spencer which would cost less than Aldi , go in around 5ish and they mark down their goods which will last days and taste much better .

There seems to be a coordinated attack on Aldi's grocery stores. Could it be they are taking too much of the grocery sales market. I love Aldi's. the stores are not 20 acres big and I like a lot of the products better than the products in other stores.

So long as they don't pass it off, I don't see a problem. Trademark isn't intended to prevent people selling similar products, its to prevent people selling fraudulent or counterfeit products or products so similar that, at a glance, a reasonable consumer wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I think that is a fair standard. I would never buy Aldi Cola, the fact they use a fancy font and a red background are designed to make me think, 'oh this is Aldi's Coke' it isn't designed to make me mistakenly buy it thinking it was Coca-Cola, if that was the intent or how a reasonable consumer would respond, then that would be and should be unlawful.
