Why would anyone want to sleep next to the heat and noise of those engines? Maybe while docked, if you are OK with the lingering smells, but certainly not while running.

They didn't cheap-out on those big QSM-11 engines, which are probably only doing about 125HP each or less to make the claimed 8 knots cruising speed. The claimed cruise speed of 8 knots seems low, perhaps to achieve the significant claimed range with very modest fuel consumption.

Not a huge fan of the teak, but I love the boat. Teak is just harder to clean and gets hotter than gel coat does.

Tyler Hoover of Hoovie's Garage owns a 47 Carver, but used to own a 50' Cruisers yacht. As a connoisseur of fine automobiles, and crappy ones, he said the Cruisers was like the Bentley of lake or bay cruising boats. He likes the Carver because it has more room for guests plus his kids somehow, but the Burger Yachts he agreed with me were the Rolls-Royce of yachts and Cruisers were tne Bentley with Carver being the Audi and Viking 80 the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Hugh praise.

Wow! I remember seeing two video walkthroughs of this boat during the build process. There was a lot of attention to detail and build quality. I like the interior height and thought that it was probably being built for a Basketball star. I guess we'll never know. 😉
