I have my originals, both Japanese and American but my children have repros. I changed the shells and labels to make them look authentic, then they were stolen. 😂 Thankfully I have more repros. 😁

You recapped this controller board, didnt you? I can tell because of how you have solder blobs on the back side of the board where the caps go through the hole to the other side of the board, insinuating you cut the legs of the old ones and soldered new ones to the old legs

Hey there, I bought some CR2025 batteries and they look just like yours but in other videos I see they have CR2025 batteries but the tabs are flipped, should it all work the same or would my battery be upside down?

I wish the game would keep the high scores after you power it off. That’s my only complaint about this cabinet as all other arcade 1ups keep the scores

T2 does keep all time high scores, only the daily high is reset.

@@bsmith8166 actually the proper IUPAC name is propan-2-ol, all other names are non-standard. You’ll probably see both names used everywhere for marketing reasons, ie isopropyl alcohol reminds people it’s also rubbing alcohol which is typically pre mixed with water (maybe 70% to 30% water), while isopropanol might be 99%.

There are several generation of fakes, huge market in Asia that made repro carts even ones from 80's and 90's. More modern ones don't even use batteries but use solid state to save, but they aren't that good and won't last very long.

It does, but the battery powers the memory when the game is off. This is not the case anymore since the end of the gba era.

@@NathanWubsyeah Gen 2 batteries run dry much sooner than Gen 1 because of the timer system. Even in Gen 3 they use solid state and don’t need batteries to save, but ruby/sapphire/emerald uses a timing system as well and uses a battery just for running the clock

Yeah it’s used to save and run the timer system, so it’s always ticking down. Gen 2 only lasts a few years because of this.

Next stage would be gluing parts back together and painting torn areas, but some collectors consider adding anything (glue, paint) messes with the original and actually loses value
