Just a thought, how about you create another track and duplicate the music but this time use the voice source 2. no, that won’t work. I’m being stupid, manually merge the audio to one track. Painful though.

TBH the transcribe audio is useless without being able the KEEP the speakers names on export of the transcription. It makes no sense to transcribe it, export it and then lose who is saying what!
@JasonYadlovskiКүн бұрын
I believe in 19 beta, the speakers stay.
@SgtMajor82Күн бұрын
I've just tried again. You can change the name of the speaker once the transcription is done. But the names are not exported in the .txt file

All the hidden options revealed ! Many thanks. I got a ton of add-in transitions but most have unfathomable names and they are spread around in other folders too. If I pop them into my Toolbox Favorites folder then the unfathomable names are still unhelpful. Is there a way to edit (personalise) transition names either in the Favs folder or in the original folders? If it is not part of Davinci's remit to allow user renaming, is it possible to do it at Windows OS level?

If it’s what I think you’re talking about, I just use the standard slide down transition and make it only 12 frames long. 😜

Thanks so much for your all videos Jason - we operate a charity and videos are the only way we have of reaching people - sound is recorded all over the place with noisy backgrounds, etc. Just lately I've started trying to take the sound seriously - dialogue, wanted sound, and music background, levels - I've a long way to go learning, but the last couple of videos have started to sound a darn sight better than before - all thanks to what I've learned from your videos - I really appreciate the knowledge and tips.

@jasonyadlovski i just tried it exactly as you showed in this video and it came out as a vertical video that was bent in the middle of the vertical resolution exactly the same way it showed on your timeline, that was how it came out in export. if you had shown the export you will see for yourself

Do the projects have to be in the same Resolve Library? When i try this for projects that are in different libraries, it makes me save the current project and then closes it.
@JasonYadlovskiКүн бұрын
Yes they have to be in the same library. It’s better to use one library with all your projects in it because then you can make use of power bins and power grades and share assets among projects a whole lot easier. Just make sure to back up the library from time to time and there’s no harm in starting a new library, you would just have to re-create your power bins and power grades.

Super helpful! I'm a newbie at video editing and I needed to learn a lot about DaVinci Resolve in a short period of time and this video did a great job. I love the fact that you managed to talk really fast and yet super concisely during the whole clip. I just regret that I spent a lot of time searching for the right guidance and watching KZfaq videos not even nearly as comprehensive and clarifying as this one. Thank you so much!

Hello, question my Timeline Framerate is 60fps, should that be lower? I have made all the other changes and it is still lagging. Brand new Mac Studio
@JasonYadlovski2 күн бұрын
Typically you want the timeline frame rate to be 24, 25, or 30 fps. Anything filmed that higher frame rate should be used for slow motion and be a multiple of your timeline frame rate.

Thanks, Jason. Since the EQ and Stereo Width is applied to the entire track - what do I do if I have a music clip that for a while plays under dialogue, but then continues to play without dialogue on top of it... and I don't want the EQ and Stereo Width settings on that part of the music clip? Do I need to create two separate music tracks? One for music under dialogue (with the EQ and Stereo Width settings) and one for music that is not played under dialogue (without the EQ and Stereo Width settings)? Is there a simpler way?
@JasonYadlovski2 күн бұрын
You're welcome! You could use the automation tools to turn off the EQ/FX when there is no dialogue. Or if you have an EQ plugin that will use the new sidechain you can have it react to the dialogue - so it would only apply the EQ when the dialogue track activates it.

I‘m sorry to be regarded, but even after checking the Index successfully viewing the Bus track and having it in the mixer, there is no Bus track on the Fairlight page. Never had this issue before, but with one particular project, I don’t get my Bus Track. And I don’t get it why
@JasonYadlovski2 күн бұрын
Hey! To see the bus, all you need to do is toggle on the automation tools, it's an icon in the toolbar above the timeline. Then the Bus will appear.

It’ll be your job AI comes for next. These Voice overs lack feel, nuance and humanity. But it will cost a lot of people their living. They stole years of training and acting skill to produce these tools. AI is just data scraping theft.

I've been experiencing a weird issue that prevents me from hearing audio at all when I'm navigating through the clips with the orange pointer, even though when I let the footage play I hear the audio fine. I've tried to fix this problem with reinstalling the software altogether and searching for the solution to the best of my abilities, but nothing has worked. please help me with this issue if you can

What is the rough ballpark decibel audio level range you target for a video when a person is talking? It would be very helpful if you could have a clip showing visually the audio levels you actually set for this video since we would then have a real reference so we can see if we like the audio level. I think maybe it is not so much the different methods of audio adjustment that people are as interested in finding out about as the bottom line --- what is a good audio level for KZfaq videos.
@JasonYadlovski5 күн бұрын
I aim for -10dB for dialogue and when all your audio work is done, make sure you are close to -14 LUFS for overall loudness of the video. 👍
