There's so much things EBU need to sort out next year or else it will only be getting worse. They need to win me again as a fan; I have lost all my interest this year and decided not to watch the live shows at all, but I knew about what happened in Malmo.

The big question is for me what will happen with the UK . We are still not getting it right . For me no more radio friendly pop songs let’s dare to do something different that packs a punch and gives us more of a chance . We cant rest on Sam Ryder we need something different . A rock band could be a good start for us

😭 I've been saying this for over a decade, some amazing rock bands in the UK but the UK seem to look at Eurovision as a pop contest, I'm not a huge fan of Hip-Hop but I'd take that over another generic pop song, I think The Hara would be a great UK representative

I don't think the boycott call came from inside the house. Some commentators called for Israel to be banned and avoiding covering them as much as possible but the calls for boycotts were from left wing media and they were kinda preaching to the choir as most of their followers were pretty much 'it's shite and i haven't followed it for years anyway' their opinion in this case weighed less than sunshine. All the whole thing did was sour Olly's experience and make him feel bad.

Agree 💯 .... The thing is -- how is this going to make 2025 look? I predict we can count on press credentials being limited. I don't look for change in EBU leadership or voting. I'll admit, because of what I saw, I didn't distribute my ROTW televotes like I normally would, but I gave them all to Israel. In a way, I have more appreciation for the fact you can only vote for, and not against, an entry in Eurovision. This is a good thing. I also predict we will see the same or less countries participating in Eurovision 2025. Switzerland is expensive. A Balkan win would have been different in this regard.

I'm not sure if this will actually happen, but I wouldn't blame the Netherlands for withdrawing in protest... also if Israel continue surely it'll be exactly the same as this year, more booing etc

Big congrats on getting 1k subscribers! In terms of what you can do to mark it, I don't really associate you with doing anything big and flashy so the appreciation you expressed seems sufficient.

I'd love more videos on contests before you started your channel! Obviously I'd especially like them for the ones I've seen, and I started in 2003, but I'm sure others here would love them going back even further!

Im not saying that because I live there only, but Basel is the most reasonable option in terms of accomodation (its in between France and Germany and due to the exhibition center there are a lot of reasoably priced hotels),price (again its 20 mins from Germany and France which is very cheap compared Switzerland and there is a German train station which you can go for free with the Germany ticket), people ( as its the center of big pharma people are used to people from different cultures and nations) etc

Great review as always, very surprising that not only did Norway come last in the final, but they only just qualified! Such a shame

You are so right about the UK viewing figures. Its not lower this year, it was elevated last year because it was held in the UK. I don't know how you can stand reading UK newspaper articles about Eurovision, i find them infuriating. The same old rubbish every year. Thank you for the videos and congratulations on 1000 subscribers 🙂.

I really liked Ollie Alexander, BUT... the performance didn't match the song at all! It was way too busy and way too grimy for a happy, sexy song like that. My friends didn't have any idea how the song went because they were too busy trying to figure out how the "box effect" was done and what the dancers were doing. It would've been better if they've lost the filthy dressing room and the whole performace would've been just on the stage like the last seconds.

I still cant believe Europe figured quite literally all the other 24 acts in the final were better than Gåte - Ulveham from Norway. There is something seriously wrong with this.

So why did Norway fail (sadly, I'm heartbroken)? I think it was a bunch of factors that ultimately sealed their fate: 1. Point system rewards the top and outliers/friendly voting: If Norway got 11th place from all countries, they would still get 0 points. If a country with a shit song got 26th place from all countries except one that is a buddy and give a higher placement, they suddenly beat out Norway.. 2. Probably lost some votes from people that likes rock or harder, especially to Ireland (which in fairness was very cool) and Croatia to some degree, and also generally people that like to vote for more "non traditional" entries. 3. Lack of press/faith from bookmakers, so they got sort of forgotten by many 4. Lots of political voting this year, and some diaspora voting as well, which ate up a lot of the points especially in the televote, so less for everyone else. 5. Eurovision community keeps wanting different languages and culture, but it rarely seems to pan out when someone does it. I read comments like "Norway have no lyrics" (WHAT?) or "I don't understand what they are singing about". 6. The jurys suck. They don't necessarily reward quality either. They seem to get swayed by pre-eurovision press/hype, and *generally* go for more radio friendly pop. (btw: the jury (and total) winner Switzerland was great, so not all choices were bad). One would hope since the large number of televote casual viewer prefers run of the mill stuff that is super catchy, and don't appreciate things like different language, ethnicity, at least the juries should be instructed to keep in mind....

as a Croatian, yes, we are going back to square one, unfortunatly 😅 this will be very discouraging to us and our broadcaster since it is financaly draining and this year they gave Baby Lasagna the wallet basiclly to do what ever he wants...last year performance was goof but knowing Let3 all props and clothes they were wearing (or not wearing) was mostly funded themselves or even made in collaborations and stage was simple to say the least, BL had a show, a concer, pyro, lights, smoke, you really can see financial backing this year behind him, so yea our money is gone and we are to square one nexr year probably, bonus our very right and conservative government is beimg formed so expect mid, safe, sterile songs
