And when people order for "a latte", they can be surprised that they are given a glass of milk. Because in Italy you should say "Caffè latte". Latte is MILK.

Hahaha, cute "As a Christian in Italy ..." So, all the Catholics in Italy are not Christians?
@aitornavarro659718 күн бұрын
She meant "christian" as an "evangelical" to differentiate between roman catholicism and mainline catholic protestantism which in most western countried, for example USA where she's from, evangelicals stem from the protestant and reformed christian traditions. In reality all orthodox christians are catholic but not all are "roman" catholic. Romam catholicism is specific expression of christianity.

Wonderful! thank you. So good to have summary of the key dates, the centrality of, and the recent restorations to enhance the visitors experience. It is important to know what it means to those who maintain the relevance and aesthetic message for outsiders to appreciate and understand.

They refer to themselves as such and in the process of trying to delegitimize The Church. In a very furtive manner, they want to deny that Catholicism is Christianity.

Whoever the artist was, it is truly wonderful to see a completely naked Christ on the cross, depicting exactly how the Romans executed all they condemned to death by crucifixion. If it was Michelangelo, all praise to him for not hiding the figure's nakedness with loincloth as a sop to religious sensibilites.
@terryjacob816911 ай бұрын
Always pleasantly surprising to see this figure by Michelangelo is unadorned with a loincloth. Instead the figure is entirely naked, exactly as anyone condemned to death by crucifixion, by the Romans, would have been.

The nicest, kindest people in that shop. Not only are you shopping history, but you are spending your hard earned art supply money in a family run store. Can't beat it. Zecchi is the best, but the people that own and operate the store really make it a special place. Thank you Mr. Zecchi!!

Interesting. I'm a mix of British and Irish, and live in England. Here, Catholics are a minority. In Ireland, Protestants are a minority. In both countries people think of Catholics as the oppressed ones historically. But people forget that in most of Europe, and even here during the reign of Catholic Queen Mary the 1st (Bloody Mary as she is now known) it was completely the other way round! I'm descended from French Huguenots on one side. So I know only too well about the persecution of Protestants by the Catholic authorities. I assumed pretty much all Italians were Catholic. So it's fascinating to hear about Italian protestants. I have to say that I personally think all bigotry is wrong; and see people of all faiths and none as my brothers and sisters. I take as I find 😊

Looking for a link to Eason (2016) , since it was 100 years and two months since James Walker Hood Eason was assassinated about a half mile from my house, outside the Bethany Church at Second and Dryades, crossing an alley way, by Garveyites in the U.N.I.A. : Fredrick Dyer, and William Shakespeare.
