A long time to make a comment..... Thank you Joseph for posting this fine Video (10 years ago--?!)!! I llike that it shows the natural Full Trip from aboard the train, with no distracting music or narration..... just views of the superb scenery on this narrow-gauge steam railway!! NOTE: Joseph, you probably know that the Weissseritztalbahn was finally restored all the way to Kipsdorf in 2017..... (that too now 7 years ago?!). Cheers, Ken S. ;-)

When I first heard about this tour I thought it would just be a repeat of what happened to Scots Guardsman so I didn't bother. I can see however that this decision I made about not going on it was a bad one.

I Was one of the lucky people who was onboard that railtour and performance wise she certainly put on one hell of a good show both performance and soundwise. Was seated in the coach behind the support coach so got the best soundtrack too. 4th time lucky too as the first 3 attempts 10 years earlier in 2010 went pear shaped when 46115 went foobar on each one. This tour was the very last one I went on before Covid-19 lockdown, this kicked in just over 3 weeks later.

@@ClassicProgrammes2868there we're certainly some jealous people about when they found out that I'd bought a ticket for the tour as all of the standard class tickets for the tour had now sold out & we're really annoyed when they saw that it ran without problems compared to the previous attempts.

The T68s are one of my first memories of moving to Manchester. I miss them, they were distinctive and had personality. A bit utilitarian inside, something you might find in Eastern Europe today. Perhaps I'm fetishing nostalgia but I can't stand the new trams which are soulless, uncharismatic, have a dreadful corporate colour scheme and use interior space pitifully badly. I've no idea when the next replacement phase is but it can't come soon enough.
