Hard to beat, are you joking my friend. This camera only work when you shoot at 30 or 24, if you use 60 as impossible because overheat so I don't think nobody who is serious about doing videos by this camera

at 4:31 I don't think super35 mode rolling shutter is 19.10ms compared to my Panasonic S1 which has 10.4 in APS-C mode, with the same Sirui 35mm anamorphic lens I dont see any different while panning fast. Ni noticable rolling shutter at all. These are execptional in APSC/super35 modes. So when people think about MFT, the GH5 has 13.9ms rolling shutter. I've had no issues leaving MFT completely behind.

I don't get what people mean when they say they don't like the build quality. Because I think this is build like a tank, except for the flippy screen. Everything feels very solidly put together. All the buttons feel good, nothing is rattling. The battery gives a good click when you insert if, giving confidence. Power switch as well. Plastics are also solid, feel rather thick and don't give way when pushed. The hand grip is solid. I don't know what you mean. Other than the screen which is super flimsy. But maybe it need's only one part to make the whole feel bad?

How do you monitor the image in this camera if it only shoots in a video profile? I understand the actual raw image is flexible in post, but having a super contrasting, baked in, image would be enough for me to bypass this camera..maybe this was fixed in an update? Thanks

All good re the car rigging but u forgot to mention the cost of the good old "suction cups" LOL these are not cheap if you want ones to actually hold the camera to the car. We use them for filming wildlife and other "scientific stuff" The beauty we find is that they simply excel in low lighting to basically filming in the dead of the night. Plus you can custom rig them for whatever type of shoot you want when it comes to shooting various kinds of wildlife. View finders, screens, etc. it's all good to go with countless customisable add ons. AND as we know a myriad of lenses, either direct micro 4/3 or with other adaptors, using: Canon, Nikon glass etc. etc.

It's worth noting that the BMPCC OG sensor only ever runs at iso800. When you set it to iso1600 it digitally increases the gain/iso, if that makes sense? There's no voltage change on the sensor itself, i.e. if you shoot at iso800 and increase the gain in post, it has the same effect. Otherwise great video.

Hi and thanks for the video. Due to my ignorance I need your help with some info: Can you please pro I do me with the specs of the power cable to power the camera with a VMount Battery and a link to Amazon?. I need to rig one of those cameras to film for 8 hours a day for 12 days and I have no experience with this camera at all. I need to record at1080 or 2k at most externally to an nvme in an usb c enclosure so, any help will be much appreciated since where I live they do not sell those cameras and my client need to import it for his project (I am just the camera man) and once all the gear is here there is not coming back. Thnaks in advance. Best regards from a Venezuelan follower in Panama! (Excuse my English)

Why would anyone what a Plate that weighs a ton on their rig… the goal should be to have a well balanced rig, not too heavy but not too light. The Smallrig rail base is just fine.
@ianxkristofer85
@ianxkristofer85 11 күн бұрын
A heavier rig is damn near necessary to run this camera handheld. The micro jitters are awful. Balances entirely subjective. I do do a lot of handheld work, so I prefer a heavier rig. Working out is also an excellent way to relieve the stress of the weight.

Bought my C200 this summer in mint condition for 1100 USD, picked up a Sigma 18-35 for another 400. I feel this is the end game camera for me, can't imagine wanting anything more. 4K, 12bit raw, insanely ergonomic, the screen tilts up and has a mirror function so that even a huge teleprompter doesn't obstruct it. Apple M chips crunch the raw files without problem. I just don't see anything even close on the horizon without spending multiples of this amount. It has a zen feeling too that's hard to explain, I just want to film with it, the buttons, the inputs, the handle, the easy to understand menu (coming after multiple Sony mirrorless...). I am beyond happy to have found this camera. Before I was looking at C100 Mk2s which sometimes also go for this price, but I held out to have that 4K futureproof, now I'm done searching.

I could go on and on about my C70. I'll never let this thing go unless they come out with a C70MK2 that breaks ground again in ways I can't think of like the first one did.

Hey Jake, when you say the 8bit is great, are you shooting CLOG 3 or just accepting a standard profile? I've found the image falls apart a bit when I grade an clip shot in CLOG 3, but maybe I'm doing something wrong. Also, I saw you mention the unreliable cfast slot in your list at the beginning. What problem did you encounter in particular?

I wonder if your perception of the 24-105 is because you’re not using it on a full frame sensor! I haven’t used it but it seems like the ultimate utilitarian tool for weddings.

I have 2 of these cameras that I use for work in a live-to-tape multicam studio setting and that I've been using for about 5 years. I absolutely love them. I did shoot once in 8-bit before I got a dummy cfast to 1TB ssd adaptor - and it was ok IMO - but the raw light is fantastic. Full transparency, I would NOT have bought them had it not been for the cfast dummy adaptor to ssd at a fraction of the cost vs the cfast cards which were (and are) in the stoopid zone of cost... internal 10bit would have been nice, but Canon would have most certainly cannibalized (canonbalized?) sales of the c300ii. Anyway, I only shoot in raw and have a large NAS for storage, although I do shoot the proxy 8bit mp4's that I'll edit with before relinking to the raw footage for grading and render. Bottom line is that I'll be using this camera for years to come and I'm ignoring all the new cameras with new bells & whistles - it's the forever black hole all us gear nuts always and inevitably keep falling into, and they'll always be something better. Otherwise, great review -

Bro, 35mm EK film has like 8-9 stops DR lol. People are so spoiled. Back in the days we had to get exposure spot on. I played with a digital C100 II and it outperforms scanned film.
