I have to agree with a lot of folks here. The song choices were sub par. To even include SOAD is a travesty. There are so many other songs that could have been showcased. 😫
video by type : look, I have learned not the brightest riffs, which I consider cool and play them with a MEDIATOR🤦🏻🤷🏻

Sorry, but I can agree with most of the songs you listed...but you playing with a pick through most of the finger played songs makes it really sux

Awful choice of riffs. So many better riffs even in the same songs you chose, yet you decide to go with bass riffs that are just guitar line imitations an octave lower or only root notes. Come on man! And then you decide to play Maiden and Korn using a damn pick? No man. Disliking this one...

dumbasses saying the basslines are "just the guitar riffs" THATS ONE OF THE POINTS OF BASS IN METAL SHITHEADS, bass get the songs more fat, full and HEAVY, if the bass and the guitar are playing the same riff, it's to make the riff heavier, not to "bury in the mix and hide the bass", you guys need to stop thinking of a song by wanting all instruments to have solos or something, bass is a support instrument and its amazing mixed with the rest of the band like the examples on the video, if you want only basslines like the ones by justin chancelor from tool, cliff from metallica, billy sheeran from mr big, lemmy from motorhead, fine, but they are the little minority in metal. like yeah you can write and there are a lot of basslines that are completelly separated from what guitar is doing, even in more extreme stuff, but you cant live as a bassist by just wanting your spotlight at all times, sometimes the song just sounds better by just doing the guitar riff (or guitar doing the bass riff if you want to think by that way lol).

There's no way the Dr Feelgood bassline was that intricate, and if it was there is no way Nikki Suxx played it.

This. And he didn’t play the bass lines that “stand out” like the chorus in freak on a leash or even the bass solo at the end of blind or the intro bass line

It's a big sin not to include Ace of Spades and play Motörhead with a clean bass
@daveweed27658 ай бұрын
But Lemmy played extremely dirty bass like a guitar. And Marshal don't even make his set up anymore. At the very least you need a pedal now to even get close to Lemmy Kilmister on bass. And then not even normal bass. Then four strings and a bad ass Rick played close to the neck. How you play any instruments how you play it. Black Sabbath? Yeah Geezer used his fingers mostly. Gene Simmons from Kiss? Pick. And regardless playing other band's songs it does make a difference. I personally like the sounds I get from picks on bass. But also use my fingers. And don't even own a five string bass.

@@daveweed2765 for the first part Yeah but distortion pedals aren't that expensive just to distort your sound I don't get what the second part has to do with my comment
@daveweed27658 ай бұрын
@@freddymaierx2363 Pedals don't give you the same sound as overloaded tubes. Marshall don't make Lemmy's setup anymore. That is half the problem. Another 45 percent of the problem is Lemmy played a Rickenbacher whis is abot 4500 dollars. Minimum. Honestly the shape and what was used makes a difference in the sound. Exactly why would you want clean pertaining to Lemmy Kilmister? The boy was dirty and he played that way. God Bless him.

You have chosen most of the songs with simple bass lines which the bass riffs are basically the guitar riffs. Maybe 4 of them were ok to consider as metal grate base line riffs.

Kind of disappointed to be honset. There are so many good metal basslines out there and yet you chose only lines that basically where doing what the guitar played some octaves lower. There where some hard ones in there, but nothing to interesting. And through that you missed some major turning points for bassist, true revolutions like the roaring bass lines of Cliff Burton (any other line from master of puppet would have been better). I dont want to personally attack you just stating my opinion. Much success to your future videos. Your playing and tones where on point 👍
