Super fans are moronic and go through an insane amount of mental acrobatics to justify the retconning, the absurd power creep, and how the plot doesn't matter at all and is entirely meaningless now that Zeno exists and even the Gods can literaly erase history and time travel without any consequences. I knew Super was garbage fairly soon on. I remember one of the biggest criticisms these muppets had for GT was the Black Star Dragonballs. How did they not get mentioned that there was a second pair of balls on Earth. They hate the black star dragon balls but shit in their hands and clap over the Super Dragon balls that are planet sized. Good lord, the name DragonBall is just terrible to be associated with these kinds of people.

GT felt like a continuation of the series and Z's characters. Super feels more like fanfiction with Toriyama's notes on it.

I do find it funny that the logos should be inverse. GT had a minimalisitc logo while Super has details (gradients and gloss), which you would think would be the opposite because of the time peroid they were made.

If anyone is old enough to remember the old DBAF fanfic and images online in the 00's, you'll see that Super seems to have borrowed quite a bit from those half-baked ideas as fan service. GT didn't do this. Yes it took risks that didn't pay off, but it also had a lot of interesting ideas that you won't see in Super. Like having a negative aspect to overusing the DBs, or returning to the terror that was the Saiyans with Baby and SSJ4. GT was just overall a more entertaining series than Super and felt final when it ended.

I know this video is super old, no pun intended, but about your point about the new characters in the series: I think just because you have a *lot* of new characters does not exactly mean that it gets an edge. In terms of size, sure I'll give it a win. But character/personality-wise? I couldn't tell you the difference between each new character in Super besides, "God of Destruction", "Angel guy", "Robot guy", "Goku but evil", "Supreme Kai but evil", etc.. Also Rest In Peace to Toriyama, but you guys were fools to think an old Toriyama would give us the same Dragon Ball as he did in the 80's-90's.

Honestly, if I were to give my own opinion on why I like GT more than Super, I'd be repeating what others have said. Instead, I'm gonna say this….. How do we go from a story about adventure to a more action oriented story to a story that starts as an adventure before becoming more action to an official parody? In a way, GT felt like a conclusion to a much greater story. A story that wouldn't have happened if Goku hadn't met Bulma. A story about adventure and making friends out of enemies. That is what OG Dragon Ball is about, adventure. Z is a continuation of that initial story, but, focusing more on action as a sign of the characters growing. The ending to Z will never not put a smile on my face. GT, as another commenter put it, is a story about a grandfather going on a final adventure with his granddaughter before inevitably having to say goodbye. GT's ending will always make me tear up no matter what. GT is the culmination of everything that happened since the beginning of OG Dragon Ball. Goku feels like a veteran after everything he's gone through. Super just feels disappointing. It reduces the story to a joke, especially Goku. As much as I love Beerus and Whis, this just felt like a retcon. Super Saiyan God and Blue don't just feel as special as Super Saiyan 4. SSJ4 felt powerful and a way of bringing Goku and Vegeta back to their roots as Saiyans.

I genuinely enjoy both, but I'll admit I definitely lean more towards GT.

iv love dragon ball litterally since i was a child and watching my 2 older brother play dbzbt on the ps2, but never watched gt untill like 1 year ago. I was suprised by that it was far more enjoyable then super and never realised its acc pretty gud compaired to super. only problem was that the acc fights felt like let downs, ssj4 goku vs baby was soooooo drawn out.

GT is an era of peace and the whole point is Vegeta is older and alot more level headed no longer needing to prove himself to Goku, his arc was arguably complete when Majin Vageta sacrifices himself finally able to put everything else aside to do something completely selfless even knowing in all likelyhood he will end up going to hell and never see his best friend/Rival ever again. Vegeta in Super just feels like the same petty Vegeta who would throw away a fight just for the chance to fight someone strong (Like in the Cell Saga) and before you say 'Oh but UE Vegeta had to grow so he could keep rivaling Goku.' He got it off-screen and both UE and MUI somehow got one shot by Black Frieza which is just the SSJ2 of Frieza and it feels so underwhelming. Vegeta is one of my favourite character if not my favourite in the whole franchise, he grew as a character from Sayian saga to the end of GT, when fighting Omega Shenron he knew Goku would pull through, he wasn't trying to 1 up him anymore he knew he may be strong but Goku has always been a step ahead which is what makes seeing Vegeta's confidence in the defeat of Omega even better.

GT took lessons in ending a story. But it's resolve took its nose dive hard! Much worse than Super did.

GT great premise, great execution, great soundtrack, bad fans. GT was the true end of the series in many fans' hearts.

Super could've been good if they didn't write the characters like ass and they didn't overhype God Ki/Super Saiyan God as this end all be all of the new age, where you either have it, you're an apprentice to someone with it, you're Hit, or you've got some BS power up to fight on par with God Ki users. Also too many callbacks to Z.

This is what I'm saying. I was on board with Super at first with Beerus and Whis. The first tournament? Ok fine I'll take it. It's a little grudge match thing between Beerus and his brother Champa. Zen-Oh? Ok I guess I'll take it. Then I'm lost after that. A tournament in whch the losing universes are deleted because Goku wants to fight? No that's stupid. He'd never damn the whole universe like that. Zamasu? That whole arc was stupid. Plus the power differences are just nonsense. Goku held his own against Beerus albeit briefly and you are expecting me to believe he's struggling with other fighters far weaker than Beerus? It makes Beerus look weak when he's supposed to be the strongest in the universe. The things Super does is so stupid. It doesn't feel like Dragon Ball anymore. It feels like fanfics.

I like the DBGT character designs (by Toriyama), and the music is excellent. Do I like DBGT? Not really. Do I prefer its animation (and animators) over Super's? Absolutely. If you're a Goku fan or prefer the "kid adventures," DBGT is probably for you. I don't know which one is better. As a long-time (at least 25 years) fan of the whole Saga (DB, DBZ, DBGT, Super), I have more issues with DBGT than anything. GT is my least favorite in the same way that The Hobbit is my least favorite story in Jackson's Tolkien Middle-Earth hexalogy (Tolkien's books are another topic). I like it, just not nearly as much as the other stories. I agree that GT captured the essence of the original Dragon Ball to some extent, but it did an immense disservice to every character who was not Goku. Granted, some may say it did the contrary for characters like Vegeta, but I believe it does anything but. Characters like Gohan, Goten & Piccolo are virtually relegated to the background; these once-popular, critical figures in the story were made undeniably useless. GT forgot about "Mystic" Gohan, Super Saiyan 2, and Uub. One more point of confusion for me is that they got rid of Super Saiyan 2 but kept 3, so you could never tell what level Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, or Goten were fighting at-- but the creators made sure that you could distinguish Goku's obvious greater level than the others. Judging by the fact that Goku in Super Saiyan could go toe-to-toe with enemies that bodied Super Saiyan (2?) Vegeta, we can safely say that Goku could take anyone, no matter his level. This is my biggest gripe with the series: GT is essentially 'The Goku Show.' Every character only served to make Goku look better. One cannot say that it gives secondary and minor characters the same respect that DBZ did, especially considering what they did to Uub after inflating and hyping him up at the end of DBZ. Curiously, I think Dragon Ball GT's story structure is more cohesive and consistent than previous ones; however, I believe DBGT exists in a sphere that is even further away from the non-canon Dragon Ball Z movies; there is a total disconnect with the characters and stories from Z to GT. GT is not a Toriyama Dragon Ball story but rather someone else's.

Super sucks. There I said it. The transformations suck. The arcs suck. The power scaling sucks. Goku is brain damaged. It’s just garbage. GT has its flaws, sure. But at least it TRIED. Also SS4 is the best.

Golden Frieza sounds dumb because that transformation doesn't make sense for him. The point is that Frieza doesn't actually transform his body when he switch form 1,2,3, and final forms. He simply releases his real body. Frieza final form isn't like "super sayian" form. Frieza final form is simply the REAL body of Frieza. It's not a real transformation. Frieza isn't really able to transform himself, he can just "downgrade" his own body to be more controlled and less dangerous. So watching him transforming in "golden Frieza" like a Pokémon, it's just dumb. He's not a Saiyan so he can't transform like saiyans do. Same for Piccolo (orange Piccolo it's too stupid), and others. Why the heck they don't give a transformation to Crilin at this point? Oh, wait.. They can't, because Crilin is a human, so he would be a "SUPER-MAN" 😂
