Got these recently. Are they meant to look like there is dust/particles trapped in there inbetween like sparkly ish that doesn’t clean off? I can’t take a photo of it as it doesn’t show up in photos? Is that the diffusion??
@RustyJamesOfficial3 ай бұрын
If you got the mist edition that could be your issue. I’ve found myself only using this lately when I’m getting b roll of lights / aesthetic shots. I’m not a fan of the mist on skin tones because of the issues you’re mentioning.

I honestly found the gimbal to be a bad investment. Mine collects dust most of the time. Could have rented it on a case to case basis, given how little I use it. And those things depreciate really fast. I'm tempted to get one of those wireless mics, be them rode, dji or deity, but not having replaceable batteries kinda stops me.
@RustyJamesOfficial5 ай бұрын
Fair enough. Ahhh man you should do it. These little mics are so convenient.
@evandevon5 ай бұрын
On long days of event shooting there'll be times where you can pop the transmitters back into the charging case (or plug them directly into some small USB battery banks) and you'll be totally fine. My receiver is usually getting charged via a USB-C output from my monitor, so that never runs out. The on-board recording has saved my ass so many times too. Being able to play with the transmitter gain live means I don't often clip my audio, but if I was buying today, I'd definitely consider mics that use 32bit float to remove that problem altogether. 110% worth it
@RustyJamesOfficial5 ай бұрын
@@evandevon well said ! The 32 bit float is the only reason I’d buy the 2nd gens.
@jacopoabbruscato92715 ай бұрын
@@evandevon yes those are valid points. My concern is more about the long term viability. Non-replaceable lithium battery means one day they'll just die and nothing can be done. A videomaker I know uses Sennheiser wireless transmitter and receiver and he's been using those for about 8 years just swapping AA batteries, I'm not sure lithium powered systems will be able to last that long
@evandevon5 ай бұрын
Good point (And I must admit I do have some AA powered mics stored away for emergencies). My loose plan at the moment is to use them until the battery only lasts a few hours, and then try crack one open and see if I can replace the battery myself. I've done similar replacements on 'non-replaceable' batteries before, so I hope for the best. @@jacopoabbruscato9271

Great video. Learned something new today 🙌 you do much color grading or does the ND filter do most of the work?
@RustyJamesOfficial6 ай бұрын
Thank you family 🤝. You still have to color grade after using the filter. Especially if you’re shooting LOG but it will be much easier to grade. I didn’t do much grading in this video though. Just put the Sony LUT over it and did a little adjusting here and there.

I think that recommending any full frame camera to a person who has never had a camera is pretty irresponsible. I mean, obviously there's a few people out there who can afford such an expensive camera as their first one whithout much sacrifice. But a person who is just starting in photography doesn't even know what he needs and I think that encouraging someone to spend thousands of money on something that they don´t even know if it will ever become a hobby is just terrible. A Sony a6700 (wich isn't particulary a cheap or basic camera) has almost every single point that you mention in your video for more than $1000 less. Edit: By doing this you're also contributing to false expectations to those who are just starting. Saving that amount of money is a pretty hard thing to do.
@RustyJamesOfficial6 ай бұрын
That’s your opinion and that’s ok 👍. I actually recommended the a6700 in the video if you were looking for an APS-C. A lot of people are willing to spend the money on something nice when entering a new space. I also stated that it’s going to depend on your needs & budget. If it doesn’t fit your budget , don’t buy it.
