There are no stupid questions here! 😜 Yes, each campsite had privies. For the beach ones, they'd usually be just off the beach in the forest, and they were all built so you had to climb a ladder to get to them.

Beautiful trail but the number of campers at the end on the beach! Yikes! Happy Isles North. I'm loving those ladders and that suspension bridge looked epic. I had a sleeper wave experience that taught me to never turn my back on the ocean below the highest storm tide marks. You were camped in a proper spot there. Thanks for taking us along!
@AudreyAdventures
@AudreyAdventures 10 күн бұрын
@@Peter_S_ Oh this was NOTHING compared to Happy Isles haha! Still scarred from that experience. 😂 This camp spot just gets the busiest because pretty much every person going either direction stays there. The trail really wasn’t busy at all though, I was surprised. Haha I wanted to stay on the beach but I was definitely paying attention to the tide marks! Pika is not a very good sleeper though so we opted for the forest. Thanks for following along! 😁

@@AudreyAdventures LOL, when I think of Happy Isles the next picture in my head is usually of LAX at rush hour, but that is the most tents I've ever seen on a Canadian beach.

All the ladders and mud could be a bit much, but definitely an incredible trail. Could you even imagine trying to hike that without all the trail improvement? Did you have to skip the boulder field due to high tide?
@AudreyAdventures
@AudreyAdventures 10 күн бұрын
@@kennethschaidle5995 I was getting annoyed at the ladders by the end but honestly they really weren’t bad - they kept things interesting haha. It was fun to always be doing different things - forest and beach, ladders, cable cars, climbing over logs, etc. I definitely never got bored! And yeah unfortunately there was only a small window where the tides would have worked out to hit the boulder beach and we just weren’t positioned to do it so we missed out on that. I bet the mud would be cray cray without all the boardwalks and whatnot! Praise the trail maintainers!

Good common sense reminders !!! What towns have the worst supply options ??? Cuz thats the. Place i like 2. Send my resupply goods !! I don't like junk food !! Sounds like u have done it more than 1x !!????? I hear col west is more scenic than east... do u think that true ?? West more wrk ???( elevation ).... Good job thank. U !!!!😊
@AudreyAdventures
@AudreyAdventures 10 күн бұрын
@@tracykooken2606 I think the Collegiate West is definitely more scenic than the East. A tad harder but worth it. Twin Lakes has the least resupply options because it’s tiny so that’s a great place to send a resupply box. Honestly the rest of the towns have fine options. I have only done the CT once but I took a separate trip to hike the Collegiate East and I live in Colorado. 😊

I saw they are selling the old models for a steep discount right now! I'm upset. Had I known, I would have waited and gotten an old one. Here's the link: www.gossamergear.com/collections/gear-closet-sale. I will definitely consider a review of the new one, but I don't have too much to say about it. It's like the old one, but a little heavier, a little stiffer, and the material feels a bit thicker. They also did not seem to add heavier-duty buckles, even though those breaking are a known problem. The buckles are a little different, but still feel flimsy.

Haha so true! Personally I buy lightweight gear so that I can bring the luxury items that I want without being too weighed down haha. But seriously, people get too judgmental about gear, in my opinion. Bring what makes you happy as long as your body can handle the weight.

How cool! I don't remember ever seeing that many moose together. I'm no expert, but I thought they were solitary for the most part. Audrey, I just ordered your book on Amazon. Would it be possible for you to autograph my copy, please? Maybe that's impossible, logistically. I'm curious: Since you previously lived in DC, did you ever visit Shepherdstown, WV? Only about an hour and a half west, also on the banks of the Potomac River.

@@johnholliday1695 Hi! Yeah I’ve only ever seen up to 4 moose together before this, so this was wild! Thank you so much for buying my book!! @AudreyAdventures Your book arrived today! I'm sure it will be a great read sans autograph! 😀 Shepherdstown is about 12 miles upstream from Harper's Ferry, so yes, it's definitely possible that you tubed nearby. I just thought you might have a specific memory of Shepherdstown. It's a pretty special place. Sadly, it seems way too many people are discovering that to be the case. Kinda the same thing in CO, huh? Keep getting after it and loving life, Audrey! Thanks so much for sharing your adventures!!
