I'm lazy I just poke the next lot of filament in the tube when the other is running out. you just keep pushing it in until the gear picks it up then just push a little more just in case there is a retraction, once an inch or so is past the drive you are fine to let it go by itself.

Hey, is there a setting to stop it faffing about for 2-3 mins before it starts printing? I print without calibration, that of course takes even longer, but even still it's a few mins before it lays down that first line. Or is it a necessary process? Thanks.

The printer still has an initializing period, so even if you don’t calibrate there’s still a delay.

I would say don't use adaptive layer height. It results in banding in my silk prints where the layers are thinner vs thicker. The amount of shine is different between layer heights. Not so much an issue with regular PLA but I wouldn't use it on prints where a uniform finish matters.
@DarkwingdadАй бұрын
I’ve had great luck with it, you just have to adjust the variance in the settings. My trick is setting the variable parameter lower so it can only get more defined on certain areas & not increase the height to cause the issues you seem to have.

Have you tried doing this but bumping up to a 8*18" 24w heater and slapping a fan in the unit? I wonder if this paired with a simple smart humidity/temp sensor would work? Those sensors can be picked up for like $15

That mask does not prevent anything because you are still smelling the primer. You should use 3M filtered mask. If you smell something, it is time to change the filter.
@DarkwingdadАй бұрын
It does have a filter in the front & notice I have an exhaust fan & filter in my booth pulling the fumes out. Yes a respirator is the proper ppe but in this case this is better than using nothing as many often do.
@smallnuts2Ай бұрын
Ill try this but the warning says runaway thermal, cooling something. Normally a runaway thermal screen just says what you showed. Mine is talking about cooling, power supply and fans, im wondering if its a fan or software issue because, I installed a silentboard board and this started happening.
@royanderson5538Ай бұрын
Just need to confirm which "direction" to install the new fan. The fan should blow air onto the hotend? The alternative is the fan is drawing air around the hotend and blowing it out of the shroud.
@DarkwingdadАй бұрын
Easiest way to remember is label facing the hot end, you want it to suck air in and blow it onto the hot

Also at 3:30 you could pick up a JST crimping kit, it’ll come with that exact same connector. I just recommend getting one because of maintenance like this. The pins in the black connectors only require a light push out with a flat head or even paper clip 👍 On Amazon the kits are like $10-$20
