Darryl is one of the most tragic characters in twd he is the most emotional of all the characters. It is why he became such a organic favorite the audience could empathize with him. He felt loss more than the rest and tried to make up for it. When Carols daughter went missing with the rose and almost dying to find her. Then with beth he carried her out and wjen big red was killed he hit negan cuz of his anger.

The only death which really messed up with my mind in TWD world😢 Okay Glenn and Abraham's death was also painful but beth didn't deserve this 💔 I really liked beth a lot just the way I liked Rick, Darly, Carol and Eugene And to make it less worthy, the guy she was saving also died after short period of time.

Because the writers wanted a shock factor for the mid season finale. But they picked the wrong one

Since rewatching, i noticed how possessive Daryl is with his crossbow. No body touches it! But he gave it to Beth. She was the only girl to break down all his barriers and walls and make him feel comfortable with being vulnerable with her. He burned himself with a cigarette to alleviate the emotional anguish he felt over losing her. Beth was his soul mate.
