In 2002 I was six years old and I stayed home from church because I was sick. I was flipping through channels on the tv and stopped on a NASCAR race. No one in my family had ever watched anything like this so I decided to root for the car with the flames because it looked the coolest. I don’t know what race that was but I know that car with the flames won. A life long love of NASCAR and cars as a whole began right there. My career, all my hobbies, almost all the entertainment I find interesting can be traced back to watching Jeff Gordon. I was too late to ever see him win a championship but I saw so many incredible moments and wins. I am still a diehard NASCAR fan but it’s not the same without Jeff.

0:11 Brad Daugherty is not lying. Jeff Gordon has not only proved to be the GOAT on the track, but off as well. He's also shown to Rick Hendrick that he's the GOAT at the business level. Hiring 7X champ Jimmie Johnson produced more success for Hendrick Motorsports, making it the greatest Nascar sports team off all time!

I got to see my hero win his last race at Martinsville. By chance and the grace of God I was there. At the last minute my buddy had another ticket. I missed the first 100 laps of that race, but man. Seeing your hero win in his retirement year, not only that, but he grabbed a chance at that 5th championship. I damn near cried. Very fortunate. 24ever

it’s 2023 and there’s still not another driver that even comes close to having the character and integrity that dale jr had when he was behind the wheel. jr. is and will always be a true american icon just like his father.
