Excellent !

Al margen de la excepcional versión de la fagotista, quiero dejar mi visión de la obra, que, desde siempre (y ya hace muchos años) no ha dejado de sorprenderme. Lo digo porque no veo en esta obra ninguna de las características tan identificables en Mozart. Por más que la escucho, no veo la huella saltarina, brillante, y hasta genuina del genial compositor de Salzburgo. Además, en sus obras, siempre se dejan notar algunos pasajes que recuerdan a otras composiciones (cuando no, constituyen plagios directos de sí mismo). Pero no ocurre así con este concierto para fagot y orquesta. Todo resulta único, diferente... Por otra parte, se suele decir que su concierto para clarinete, KV 622, sin duda y con justicia, se le considera una de sus mejores obras, pero en ella, sí que es reconocible el Mozart inconfundible al que me refiero, a pesar del enorme talento, singularidad y la gran creatividad que derrocha en esta otra obra maestra. Aquí, en este concierto para fagot, el confundido debe ser el público (o, al menos, yo, tal vez, en solitario). Y es que, si mañana me dijeran que por error se catalogó este concierto como obra suya, no me sorprendería. Pero, volviendo a la realidad, seguramente, lo que percibo no es más que un escalón, un enorme flujo de talento, que depositó en esta obra, de modo que un inédito Mozart, nos legó esta maravilla para sorprendernos a lo largo de toda la eternidad, pues eterna es toda su obra, como este inaudito y admirable concierto. ¡Bravo!

Your playing is excellent, I only wish I could hear it more over the piano. Maybe if the lid of the piano was closed it would help with the balance. But that does not detract in any way from the excellence of your playing.

What a fabulous piece, and of course so very well played! Also, the basson is such a fascinating instrument to me. When the piece is over, I will go practice my bassoon! ...Well after I hear Ms. Boichard play the Mozart concerto!

I love this interpretation! It sounds very warm. It stands out from the many other recordings not only because of the use of french basson, but also because of how you not overcomplicate or romantize it and still manage to keep it musically. :)

Il me fallait choisir un instrument, j'avais 17 ans, j'étais organiste, sans espoir de rejoindre orchestres symphonique ou de chambre. Mon prof d'orgue m'emmena en classe de basson, je n'avais jamais vu un tel instrument, le jeune professeur tout juste titulaire d'un CA, en plus d'un premier prix du cnsm de Paris avec Maurice Allard, se mit à jouer... Je fus incroyablement conquis. Je me souviendrai toujours de la douleur de mes lèvres, et de mon acharnement à obtenir le même son, ce qui advint assez rapidement. Souvenir aussi de la première immersion en orchestre symphonique... Hommage à mon cher professeur Georges, hommage à Maurice Allard, et à ses successeurs.

A modern French bassoon probably sounds more like the classical instrument Mozart wrote for. The German bassoon, as developed by Heckel, is a much later development.
