Great sound Zach! Can I ask for a wiring diagram of each effect? And did I understand correctly that you can place the Tonex in a chain inside the Line6? Thanks a lot

Hey there! I actually JUST posted a more detailed video today with wiring diagrams on my setup and how I wired the HX Stomp and TONEX!

Those wood panels look really nice and are very in vogue right now but that’s means you pay crazy prices. Insane for what they are
@ZachBrobstMusicСағат бұрын
Agreed they're very "in" right now. The link I posted on Amazon was the cheapest/"best" option I could find for what they are. But they're pricy. For me, it was sort of a "must have" since I do so much for recording and music in my space. I ended up mounting sound panels on the ceiling too to help with reverberation.

Love your stuff, Zach! I've been a Fractal FM9 user for a few years and have used that as an all-in-one FOH solution at church. Recently, I bought a ToneX One for giggles and have just recently started messing with putting the ToneX One in the FM9's effects loop. The effects/ODs/compressors/noise gate in the FM9 are fantastic, and I think I may start using both together at church.

Wondering what difference you notice between fractal amps vs tonex? I struggle to get a good wet effects break in front of fractal amps
@DigitalViperGaming3 сағат бұрын
@@jeffwatson7811 I'll report back. I tend to run my delays and reverbs after my amps. I downloaded a couple of The Studio Rats ToneX packs and found a couple of tones I'm really digging from their Preset Pack 1.

How do you feel like the TONEX amps respond compared to the FM9s amps?

Very nice and comprehensive board! About the Tone X One midi, there's one company here in Brazil that produces a loop/midi switcher that is able to control Tone X One via midi. Look up Saturno Pedals here in KZfaq, they recently released a video about it.

"Priced... to give their brand exclusivity and prestige..." And that is nothing more than a pure "ego tax" and has a real world value of $0.00. And nothing in the guitar world is more douche-y than that. It is a gorgeous guitar, but I am WELL past the stage in my life where I give 2 cents of care if my guitar has "exclusivity and prestige". I will gladly pay $3k for a guitar, but 90% of that price had better be based on material quality and meticulous craftsmanship as an instrument and not whether it will pass the Kool-Kidz-Club litmus test.

I've been using one for a few years now as my ONLY pedal on stage. I play keyboards and rhythm guitar in a cover band and having to lug a 2x12 combo just for guitar tone got a little cumbersome. I never mic'd it (always ran it direct) so my amp was basically a 50lb stomp box. I replaced it with the HX Stomp (in "Stomptrooper White") and it solved a lot of logistics issues. I run it to a Radial DI and then straight to the FOH using the stage monitor as my cab. I just put in my toolbox with my cables and picks after the gig and I'm done.

So do you run this into a power amp? Which power amp? Which cab? Or a pedal board into your computer? I’m struggling to find a single video on how all these Tonex players actually use one for live use.
@ZachBrobstMusic6 күн бұрын
I run this rig straight into my audio interface for home use/ studio use and for live I use a DI box to send my signal to the FOH from the HX Stomp!

The ringing noise your hear when you strum it is 100% normal, it's the strings behnd the bridge that are vibrating, thats what a jazzmaster does, they call it the built-in reverb, every jazzmaster bridge will do that, that's one of the reasons why people who love jazzmasters love jazzmasters, it's the extra harmonics coming from the strings behind the bridge.

@ZachBrobstMusic9 күн бұрын
Honestly I'm not sure I'd need to! The HX effects is a lot larger than the Stomp but of course has scribble strips, more stomps ,etc.
@En_A_B9 күн бұрын
So it capture a specific setup of the amp? Meaning that you can’t simulate, for exemple, how the amp will respond to volume (valve saturation) or ad and reduce the gain in the profile?
@ZachBrobstMusic9 күн бұрын
You are correct that a profile captures a specific amp setting. You can attempt to add gain to it using the gain knob via the Kemper unit but I wouldn't recommend doing that too much since it'll add a degree of "digital"ness to the profile. However, using some of the drives/distortion pedals before the amp profile block does work really well

The helix is great if you dont have 2000' sqft for amps, pedals, and wiring. Run a boss bd compressor at very minimal settings after the helix. It basically erases any of the digital feeling of the tone.

I have been looking at the hxstomp but haven't decided if that's what I would like to get or just go with just an effects pedal for delay, chorus and reverb. Love what you have come up with.
