I bought a super light pole/clamp and use it for each anchor, effectively turning lead climbing into top rope soloing. That way, I never have to take a fall.
@35andRetired7 күн бұрын
Interesting. Are you climbing alone or with a belayer?
@68008917 күн бұрын
@35andRetired 20% of climbing injuries are attributed to belay failures. So my only variable other than my brain is the equipment, which has a pretty good track record. It takes a little longer, I will admit, but climbing isn't a race. I do not go out alone. Rather, my climbing buddy and I both climb the whole time instead of taking turns.

I have an Echo CS-310, found this video as my purge valve has also developed a small hole. Still runs but want to address it. I have used a LOT of chainsaws and currently own the Echo CS-310 and a Stihl Farmboss. The Echo Ive had many many years and it always just runs and works and since its lightweight I tend to grab it for almost everything and only use the Farmboss on felling big trees and cutting firewood. This little Echo is just a workhorse of a chainsaw. You cant go wrong with one of them.

Emt/Fire here. Since you've responded to a lot of comments I'm hoping you're reading this one as well. The exposed insulation with kids present is a health risk as well as a fire risk. it's fine for unused space or rarely used, but this is likely to be a high traffic area. Some insurances might even drop them for having an exposed play area like this. Have them get some cheap paneling or even plywood to cover it up for safety.
@FlashthePreacherGuy14 күн бұрын
Came to say insulation needs covering, that can be a health risk for anyone who plays in there.

I'm not sure what you expected from this piece of kit. I use all sorts of items for cooking, Trangia, Kelly Kettle, gas stoves, fire pit etc and there is definitely a place for the trangia in my kit. Making a solid meal is just so much easier in a Trangia and far tastier than those freeze dried ones that seem to be the fad for now. Think you really need to utilise it more, become more adventurous with your cooking. The 25 is like having a kitchen in your back pack. And hey, really check out the benefits of that simmer ring.. theres a whole world of cooking you're missing out on.

As I said, I lived the trangia and would buy another one tomorrow. But, nothing is perfect so I was sharing what I find to be worth improving. You’re probably right, our cooking in the backcountry is relatively simple, lots to explore. Thanks for your comment.!!

I use to be a auto mechanic. I fell the same as you. Most of my tools I bought were Snap-On, or high end. I changed my profession and now if I want a new tool I go to Princess Auto or Canadian tire. I just bought a 12 ton press from Princess Auto to change out my front wheel bearings on my Mazda 3. Yes it's not quite straight, a little loose, but it worked for what I needed to do. I may never use it again, but the price was cheaper then going to a shop to press out and in the bearings. Now I have a press if ever I need one again.

Don’t tell people what tools they should use in a professional setting. A tool is a tool and if it gets the job done that’s all that matters. It’s your choice if you want to buy overly priced tools. The thing about Harbor Freight, if you break it you can take it back and get a new one almost in perpetuity and you don’t have to wait for the truck to come . I use Harbor Freight tools often and oddly enough the press was the only thing that has needed to be replaced. You can continue to get your tools off the truck, but honestly, Harbor Freight’s ICON brand is solid contender and less expensive.
