Great job but it pained me to watch...haaaaa only because I installed vinyl tops back in the 1980s until vinyl tops died. Nothing better than putting a top on with the heat fom the sun.

@@davidlis6709 The only difference between this engine and the others is that I'm using Lucas Oil Stabilizer, which may contribute to Wicking. Also, Blue, Black or Gray Oil resistant RTV's don't work. Neither does the Pipe Thread Sealer with PTFE. It gets hard. Cleaning the threads doesn't matter. Teflon tape applied properly isn't working. I did take off the breather from the passenger side and drove hard, and then there was no problem, no leak. But that breather isn't clogged.......So ?????????

Just got a radio from Crutchfield, not only has the proper harness but they will wire it FOR YOU for $28! As someone with more money than time, this was a no brainer. I'm sure other companies offer this service as well. Note this does NOT work with steering wheel controls - you have to wire those yourself. But this literally makes it plug-and-play, and eliminates the worst part of the job! Great video and I'd do it if I had the time, but I don't.

The easiest way is to short out the - side of the coil. Connect a wire from the - side of the coil to one side of the switch inside the car then connect a second wire from the other side of the switch to a ground. Use an existing screw that goes through metal under the dash for ground.

17:08 When I used a chain I used one of the existing bolts from the upper latch. No need to add more hole in the hood. Also cover the chain with a bicycle tube. I would find both your switches easily. You need it tucked under where all the wires are. The 2nd switch is easier to see than the 1st. If someone wants your car bad then they will tow it. Check for clearance issues on that 2nd switch before drilling and also paint it before you install it. Now you have a different color paint on the panel. You do stuff backwards for some reason.😂 Also go buy the proper wire crimping tool.

Wow, where to start……… Didn’t crack the bleeders when compressing pistons, as well as both calipers off when doing this. Didn’t replace clips or lube ends of pads at contact points Didn’t lube caliper pins Always replace rotors in pairs The dirt and debris pushed back into the abs pump is bad juju, maybe ok in the 60’s and 70’s but not ok today, I hope that’s your own car and I hope you’re never behind me in traffic.

No - if I remember correctly your ignition switch is on the dash and does not have a steering wheel lock. Do your head lights come on? battery Check the connection on the negative cable, it may not have a good ground May need to cur back 1 inch on both battery cables and put on new battery connectors, the cable could be green with corrosion.

Would this apply to 305 SBC as well? I have an 84 pontiac with a 305 SBC and i have oil pooling in 3 of the 4 indents. Until now I assumed that the carb was flooding (with no evidence of gasoline on the outside of the carb) but having seen your video, I am now convinced that it is oil. (Im not an experienced mechanic, I can't tell if it is oil or gas. I guess one way to tell if the car sits for days, the gas would evaporate..) any advice would be appreciated! Thanks+

Put your finger in it. This is not hard, just take out each bolt put RTV on it and tighten it back up, then go to the next one.
@robbiesz
@robbiesz 3 ай бұрын
@@davidlis6709 It was oil. I cleaned the area, took the bolts out (all threads where drenched in oil), cleaned them with carb cleaner and put black RTV on the threads. Due to the angle, I couldn't get the socket with the 3/8 driver to fit perfectly, but i did try my best to torque them down. We shall see if that fixed it. Here i am experiencing on my 1970 chevelle. When i turn the key to run the engine nothing works. Only the first click is the gen light . Then i believe the oil light comes on the 2nd click. I took a test light to the 3 terminals on the fuse box #1 "Bat" /#2 "acc" & #3 "ign" all 3 terminals are dead with out electricity. I also took the plugs out of the ignition switch and the red wire is HOt. I dont get it. The only thing i am thinking is the column shifter is in a wrong spot.? I dont have the column shift lever attached just like in this video. I put a jumper wire in the plug that goes to the nutral safety switch so .. i don't think the position of the gear selector on the column makes a difference

I just took it off to verify the "locked" position on the switch. The key was in the lock position but the switch was in the 1st postion not the 2nd position. I saw your video in detail but neglected to make sure the switch was in the 1st click on lock. For some reason i thought the switch would move to where the rod was position when i put the 2 small screws. I guess thats why the holes are slotted on the switch??? Anyhow i will know if that was it. when i replace the negative battery cable tomarrow. (Long story on that... i needed a cable on my daily driver) thank you for responding
