Hi is there any way to bake a voronoi fracture animation that uses a plain>linear field as a modifier? I'm trying to export an 'exploded view' of a CAD assembly from C4D to Unreal, but when I make the voronoi fracture editable, it loses the animation and becomes static. Thanks!

How to get it in UE5.4 ? The installer on Maxon site doesn't really install it.
@JonathanWinbush2 сағат бұрын
You'll want to make sure you have the marketplace folder there for it to install into and also I find it works best if you have everything on the default C: drive I did a walkthrough here to visually see how I install it kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jJhjn7Cj06rVpGw.htmlsi=mSTdCer4IUFqakqO

@@JonathanWinbush hi, thanks. I found in documentation that c4d has to be in default location. I think that's what I'm missing. I'll test it later today. I did have a marketplace folder already but no cinewere plugin folder inside. Installer was asking if I want to override the existing cinewere plugin... Edit: My Unreal wasnt in default place... All good now.

Winbush I have to say... the more I play with these new motion design tools, the more I realize how POWERFUL they are JEEEZ. Dude...it used to be SO HARD to import video footage and set up a simple backplate. There were so many long cumbersome steps but NOW with the new motion design tools, it's more straightforward like a traditional dcc. Simply add a media plate and link it to your footage...DONE! Now traditional VFX artists can focus on CREATING instead of spending hours on google, searching how to set things up.

It's definately getting there I know they've been taking feedback and will have it be even more improved for 5.5 but I think it's been a great start.

Does anyone have any insight into how to simply pay for map data so you can use for instance Google satellite data in a production? I looked on Google's pricing page, which was pretty amazingly opaque (they seem focused exclusively on web-usage and counting "number of downloads"). Other than that, when I try to google for answers it feels as if no one on earth has ever used Google Maps satellite data in a commercial DEM Earth project
@JonathanWinbushКүн бұрын
yea I've ton a lot of animated maps in my career and I always have to end up creating my own terrain textures in photoshop then playing that overtop of the 3D mesh. I don't know what the price is but one of the show runners said they quoted them an insane amount per each time an episode aired that had google maps in here

Hey Win live your content... any chance you'd have insights on how to bake a static mesh into an animation with a skeletal? Or even 2 skeletals in the same sequnce? UEFN for reference
@JonathanWinbush3 күн бұрын
so do you mean like you animated in a different 3d application and you exported as an fbx and now you want that animation to work in uefn?
@teddygoldstien50583 күн бұрын
@JonathanWinbush All in uefn I was referencing to like when you have a skeletal mesh in a cinematic sequence with multiple animations and your able to bake all of those animations into one... is there a way to add another skeletal mesh or static mesh into that same bake??... I've realized/Learned I just need to attach such objects to the skeletal during the animation... leaving the animations universal. Though it'd still be cool to know if it was possible to bake them out with the animation..
@JonathanWinbush3 күн бұрын
@@teddygoldstien5058 I guess I'd need to see an example of what you mean. I know for like when I did this walk explosion I had to bake the animation in cinema 4d for each of the mesh then one by one reference that animation in the sequencer x.com/JonathanWinbush/status/1790882134036799619

You rock Winbush! I love using the controller to navigate the asset packs and stuff. I look for great camera angles this way and then create a camera actor to remember my places I like. Also, the PS4 & PS5 controllers will work on PC, you just need to go get something like the DS4 for windows application. It basically works as an emulator to make windows recognize the PlayStation controller as an Xbox controller. I have used both my PS4 and PS5 controllers this way with Unreal and I don't notice any lag or issues.
@JonathanWinbush3 күн бұрын
That's great to know I wonder if that would work with the Nintendo Pro Controller as well. I don't have any PlayStation controllers but have a few Nintendo ones I couldn't get to work.
@commontimeproductions3 күн бұрын
So for the Nintendo Pro you would want to connect to your PC via Bluetooth and the then you need a free software called "BetterJoy". It is similar to that DS4 one I mentioned for PS controllers. So basically it will help your computer recognize it as an Xbox controller. Unreal won't recognize controllers unless they are Xbox or via the emulation software. Let me know if it works! Now I'm super curious :)
