Loved both games. Writing is impeccable either way, but I would’ve given it to RDR2. It’s been a while since I’ve played either game, but I find myself thinking more of RDR2 and Arthur much more often. That says it all.

That German Newspaper is named "New Truth". Yeah, that sounds like blatant lies.

The machines def aren’t bc they’re bulky and ugly af… looking akin to Warhammer… even MAYBE Doom… but one can blame that on the Germans copying / reverse engineering their tech from that old Jewish/Alien tech (Da’Yuch’Cha?!)…

I feel "salted beef" and "salted venison" is meant to be more readily compared to the beef jerky of the era. During the mission Polite Society Valentine Style uncle can tell Arthur to "Buy some some of that jerky over there" and the game prompts you to buy salted venison. I've also seen him tell Arthur to buy coffee, not sure what other products if any he says🤔

How could you do so much fuckin research to miss the reference to morphine ESPECIALLY considering the abundance of opium and opium derivatives during victorian and edwardian eras in the west. The invention of laudanum and opium dens, it was a pretty big deal man.
@RealPixels21 сағат бұрын
Laudanum and opium are both discussed in later entries in this series, if that helps.

I'd say wolfenstein is more inspired by a lot of anti-German propaganda and OSS/NKVD psy-ops that produced/conducted prior to and during the war and then cranked up ten-fold afterwards. A lot of the "nazi documents" were forgeries fabricated by NKVD agents who used captured German documents as templates.

Pretty good video, but I wish you hadnt focused so much on th4 games story. Of course that is fiction. I wish you'd focused more on the world of the game, the technology, landscape, language, attitudes, etc

Every time the gta 4 theme has that beautiful climax I am reminded of the consequences that a life of crime could bring, so I make the conscious decision to not pursue it and try to go legit no matter how tempting it may be. Truly a powerful and emotional 🥹 story

You are partially correct with where the term moonshine comes from yes it was made under the cover of moonlight but it was called moonshine because at night you could see all of the shining distilleries in the hills of the forest

One inaccuracy is that it's raining in the White Shoe Slaying, purportedly August 25, 1947. In LA, rain in August is rare. It doesn't usually rain at all between about March and October. And in 1947, there wasn't really much rain until December. It's a nit to pick though: I love the game. I lived in LA for about 6 years, and I think the game really "gets" the city.

Red dead 3 should be a sequel to rd2. There is a three year gap between 1 and 2 so three would be a perfect fit.

Is [insert video game based on fiction] historically accurate? Well by definition a game can not be, as you have the opportunity to change history with decisions. Duh!

Yes best game I have ever played and I just play the good one's not all of them. I like a good videogame and not videogames in general. I want the amazing experience a really good videogame has to offer. I enjoyed the story so much that I read the hole journal of Arthur's as he was writing it, also when John started to write it. Also I read all the news papers and few books that are in the game. I think it also is good for you brain, it's not overstimulated and stressed. It's relaxed, happy but still entertained. I did all the side missions and i'm at 92% after I bought the game 1 month ago. First playthrough and the only one. 92% took me 110h, I didn't look the locations for the treasures online, I just looked the clues, run around on the map and found them and it felt really rewarding. That's what most live and videogames are missing too now, the actual good gameplay or reward building just for instant dopamine. It's not good for you. My overall mood in my everyday live went up a lot as I was waiting to get to play this game after work, I worked harder at work and was happier. Now the story is over and I just have few long collection missions left with just a lot of running around and that's not that exiting. Explored almost all the cabins on the map, all of the buildings have something actually happened there, it's crazy.

The reason why Nazi Germany won ww2 in Wolfenstein’s timeline, because the Canadians didn’t commit the war crimes in the First World War, the German POWs live to fight in the Second World War.

Thank you for this incredible series & all the research you've put into it. RDR & RDR2 are some of my favourite games BECAUSE of their close attention to historic detail (not always, but at least 90% lol). it was a pleasure to be able to experience the time in the game but also a pleasure to see someone notice the things i did & put them into video form with other interesting tidbits! Like I knew Dragic was meant to be a dopple for Tesla but I had no idea about Tesla's familial name! Again, great job & i look forward to other videos from you!

Correction: Japan surrendered irl after the Soviets declared war on them, meaning a third front was opened in the north. The atomic bombs... well they were definitely a factor, but not as big as is often made out in textbooks. The firebombing that Japan had been under for years beforehand did far more damage and took far more lives.

In the same way that the "knight in shining armour" was mythologised in Europe, I see no real issue with the Bushido legend being... a legend. I mean, it is pretty explicit in Ghost of Tsushima that the events are supposed to be a mythologised retelling.
