I remember how astonishing wide-body planes like the L-1011 were for me, in that it was around 8 years since I was traveling in DC-6s, DC-7s and Super Constellations. I liked the L-1011, having been aboard TWA and Eastern L-1011s.

These kinds of home movie are so important as historical documents, your dad has created little gems, like windows into aviation history, love it!

My mother was a FA for TWA for 14 years from 1985-1999. She flew to Rome many times and it was one of her favorite places.

We still have some TWA cutlery my dad brought back off a flight in the late 60s.

The last time I flew TWA was back in June 2001. Took me from Denver to St Louis, and then on to San Antonio for Air Force basic training. Was on an MD-80. Oh and I got to fly on an L-1011 when I deployed. Also DC-10s and MD-11s. Good times. That was not a comfortable flight. Packed in on that airplane for 24 hours. Got to get off at a few stops at least- Germany, Kuwait and a couple others where I wasn't even sure where we were😂

Flew on L1011 coast to coast a few times in the late 80s. I do remember it being one of the least stiff airplanes ever, twisting and bending along. That’s how it seemed anyway.

Love this! I was born 6 years after this so I’ll never know the joy of the simpler times and experiencing the 1011 first hand. So many cool planes and vintage liveries back then.

The TWA L-1011 was the last model my father flew before his retirement. After 38 years, Captain J. R. Eads was my hero.
