Beautiful!! I am homeschooling starting next year (2nd grade). Can you please explain the scope and sequence of each subject.

So they read the fly leaf book and at the end of the week they complete a work page about it?
@partsofthelanguagellc7 ай бұрын
I have to see where the new student is in reading, so they read a few different Flyleaf Publishing books to me. All students: Each day they read the book that they are on and complete one page of the reading work packet. Typically, there are four pages, but as the books/work gets more challenging, there are five days. The more challenging work actually lists the Day 1, Day 2, etc. on the pages, but the first set of books do not, so the students know to complete one page a day. If they do not have it all complete by Friday, they know they need to complete it. The next week, they start the next book in the series.

How many students are in your room?
@partsofthelanguagellc5 ай бұрын
I can have up to 18-24 students, but this year I now have 14. I started the year with 13 and then it went to 12 and now it is up to 14.

I love your videos! it’s much harder to find good resources about elementary montessori classrooms than it is to find info about montessori preschools. so thank you!

Thank you! Yes, I feel the same way! That is why I try and create the resources and information for lower elementary!

Your room for some reason gives me a feeling of nostalgia even though I never went to a Montessori school

I just discovered your channel but I can already tell you are going to be my favorite teacher blogger. I love your map and enthusiasm.

Thank you! I actually just had to take my map down so they can paint the room and I put it on a blue painted board and now it looks even better!

I work in a school that is not Montessori but I love so many of the elements of this style. How do you guys get the activity cards that sit on your shelves for each subject matter?
@partsofthelanguagellc11 ай бұрын
Hi! Almost all the works on the shelves are materials from Montessori companies. There are command cards (activity cards) for each area. Most of those came from the disk from my training. I have some free cards I have made if you visit montessori-resources.teachery.co/montessori-resources . Thank you!

What curriculum do you use?
@partsofthelanguagellc11 ай бұрын
Hi! It is Montessori, so I follow the Montessori Method, which follows Scope and Sequences. I made my own Scope and Sequence for Lower Elementary, but since it was a fluke that I was teaching Early Childhood/Kindergarten, I do not have my own scope and sequence for that. I hope that answers you question! Thanks.

WOW! Love the wooden map! I'm looking forward to your prepared environment setup videos. I'm in Early Childhood. My room is being used for the summer. I can't wait to start my setup.

Thank you! Early Childhood is amazing! I will definitely miss the pink tower. The students absorb so much during 3-6 and progress so fast! Setting up the environment is one of the best parts of teaching Montessori! Best wishes for a great school year!
