I Remember ordering Godbluff from England as a new album. The previous album I bought in 73 , I will say Godbluff and Still life are their best albums as they are the most consistent albums with some great tunes that I will call more classical than rock ! All their albums up to and including World record are good, even tough world record may show first signs of strain , THat said Hammill never were able to make solo albums nearly as good as the fabulous Foursome (5 initially with Potter )

Thank you for posting this. When I was a kid, a million years ago my two favorite shows were Get Smart & Batman! If I did something wrong that annoyed my parents, 'THAT'S IT, NO GET SMART OR BATMAN FOR A WEEK!" I would cry go to my room upstairs, cry, and then sneak down those old stairs to watch it from what I could see from the front entrance sideways, but the creaky stairs almost always gave me away! My Mom made Batman & Robin costumes for me and my older brother, and we would share a bicycle and ride to our neighbors house and throw rocks at them, then bike away! Oh such good times, but not if their kids nailed us first! Today's kids would run away and call the police and whine like Gurly men!

One has to realize there were only three major networks back then. You didn’t have to be terribly creative. You just had to compete against the other two network shows in the same Times slot. Truly, a golden age , no matter what you did you would make a money from advertisers.

I ;oved Get Smart as a kid but never saw it as funny. It was a spr shoot up show with funny stuff in it. Strange to thunk adukts would like it. Winning prizes? It shows how inferior tastes were back then. It did well with kids in repeats and thatrs why its great. As usual the people behind it and on camera are not so SMART and good. liked the opening too.

I'm 48, I was born 10 years after this show aired but I have very vivid memories or coming home from school excited to watch another episode when I was in elementary school. No matter how bad my day was, I could always count on the comedic genius of this show to bring light into my day. Thank you Don and the rest of the cast for helping many of us see joy in the world.. From the comments, it's very obvious that this show touched many of us. Fun fact that he played Inspector Gadget. Looks like he effected my childhood in more ways than I knew!!

An example of how perfect the comedy writing is. From S1E9 “Satan Place”. The Chief has been kidnapped and Max, 99 and (I think it was) Hodgkins discussing how to raise $200K to pay the ransom. Max is explaining to 99 that they can’t go running to The State Department every time they have a little problem. 99: Well what about Congress Max? They could put through a special appropriation? Max: How long would that take? 99: Three months. Max: What if it was an emergency? 99: (after a brief pause) Four months. HA! Classic. Brilliant writing!

I watched this show ALL THE TIME in the 1970s, man I miss this show on TV. It was always a good day when "Get Smart' was on. I had no idea that he did the actual voice of Inspector Gadget cartoon. Wow! This show is still funny in 2024! "Missed it by THAT much!" 🤣🤣🤣

When I joke with people my first cell phone was a shoe, there was a time a lot of people got it. Unfortunately, that has been less and less over the years, but I still get people that get it. I just wish Netflix would pick up on these classic old shows, because I think there's a large enough group of people that would love viewing them either by nostalgia or curiosity.

I was a kid when I watched Get Smart in the '60s and a teenager for the syndicated reruns in the '70s. Loved it. But one joke it took me ages to get was the number 86, meaning, to 86 something was to throw it in the trash. Great show - and I really wish it had made Don Adams life happier than it did.

I ... I have too much to say about this show. I'll just leave it with: at 62, I can still count so many ways in which this show has influenced my sense of humor. I still use some of the catch-phrases, and I only watched it in re-runs when I'd stay home from school. Get Smart ... and Loving it!

Hello to all "Get Smart" fans. I'm not a native speaker. I come from Ukraine. Now I work as an English teacher abroad. I remember when I was a kid I watched 2 or 3 episodes on the TV dubbed in Ukrainian. That was in the late 90s. I was 12 or maybe 13 years old at that time. Later in the year 2008 or 2009 after graduating from university I decided to improve my English. My goal was to increase my active vocabulary and improve my speaking and listening. I wanted to find some interesting movies or TV series for that. By chance I stumbled into "Get Smart" series online and I LEARNED first 3 seasons. I was using each episode as a lesson. I was listening carefully and writing out in the notebook every unfamiliar word, every colloquial expression, every catchy phrase. I learned it all and "I'm loving it". That was the most enjoyable education of my life! It was very easy for me to listen and understand due to Maxwell's Smart "very distinctive voice" :) I still enjoy those series. After watching this documentary I feel very nostalgic and want to watch it again. I love all the major actors of this show, especially 86, 99, Chief and Siegfried. I'm very happy to know that some actors are still alive and even continuing their career after so many years! Thank you for reading my long message. I just could not keep it inside and wanted to share it with you.
