And thanks for asking about Tony Anholt. Sadly because we lost him many years ago, not many people seem to ask about him..

Regarding the Space 1999 convention. they apparently are showing some extra footage from the Breakaway episode which the were from the original 90 minute cut. Sadly I dont think I can make the convention, but hoping the footage will be made available in someway later

I believe Mr Moore was one of the worst 007's. Despite the occasional ridiculous screenplays, laughable supporting characters, and dumb plots, I have enjoyed Roger's portrayal of The Saint. As a younger man, he was a believable and talented actor, suave and handsome. A man for the time. As Bond, he was an absolute failure. Nearly as ridiculous as David Niven. It may not have been entirely his fault that he impressed as an effeminate twit. ( Maybe a case of stupid direction by the Bond franchise). I could not stand to watch his performance as Bond. This was a shame as I enjoyed his work as The Saint. What a shame Patrick McGoohan declined the offer to play 007. R.I.P Roger.

This is nice. Too bad they wouldnt have some commentaries on the box set. My mom loved Hart to Hart and I pretty much had to watch it too as a kid.

This is wonderful. Great hearing from two excellent actors from a golden era. And the down to earth quality of both is terrific. They’ve both got their feet firmly on the ground and are very amusing.

Of particular interest was Haren Ellenshaw, he seemed absolutely crestfallen by how the film was lobotomised. I made a very modest documentary on Superman IV, as it’s a very intricate passion of mine. The gem of film curios. It’s great to see how much you’ve put into this.

I like the original Avengers series and the New Avengers, I also like film, although not quite right, film still enjoyable and entertaining to watch. Music of film were good, also didn’t Brian Clemens try and put his input forward but was ignored a rumour I heard don’t know if it is true.

The movie was fun; I remember looking forward to it eagerly! My TV was fixed on CBS that evening. And the critics commented on how good Robert Vaughn and David McCallum looked. My regret was that it seemed hastily put together (the credits and music, for example). More time and budget should have been allotted. This would have allowed for more imaginative camera work and editing. But Michael Sloan wrote an entertaining script, combining UNCLE with elements of Bond. Kudos to him for his perseverance! My impression at that time was, they were considering more TV movies; it would have been more exciting than a weekly series. But CBS was not happy with the ratings. (Pity, because “Perry Mason” went on for over 20 movies, with Raymond Burr and Barbara Hale.) Imagine my added pleasure as a George Lazenby fan, seeing “JB” kick ass in Las Vegas! Fun fact: 1983 was the year of Lazenby, Connery, and Moore all playing James Bond! Thanks, Michael!

Thank you for this. I was a DWAS member in the 70's and 80's, and at the time, Ian was an ordinary fan like many of us, in that he knew what he liked and enjoyed about any given story or episode! I was very sorry to hear that he had passed away some time ago, he would have loved to see William Hartnell's Season 2 make it to Blu-Ray! Glad he enjoyed the Evil of the Daleks animation, both in colour and in B&W. Lovely to see and hear him in this interview. Thank you again ;D

Great selection! Despite the video and audio quality not being up to standards that the majority of modern viewers expect, I greatly prefer the Honor Blackman episodes of "The Avengers" over any other era. I bought the Dave Rogers book when it came out new in 1982, poured over all the synopses which was helpful in comprehending some of the action when I finally did get the opportunity to watch episodes here in the States circa 1990 when broadcast for the first time here. Of course, lots of "ITC / ATV repretory players" (like the lovely Annette Andre who I had an awful crush on from her Saint appearances), and this great ensemble of actors made the transition from other shows I had seen to The Avengers a loigical choice. Although there is a bit of the bizarre in some of the plots, they are more plausible that the absurdity that creeped in especially in the color episodes. Interestingly enough, "The New Avengers" seemed to return to some of this original more serious / thrilling format, and I enjoyed that series greatly as well. Two unfortunate things about the show are the wiped episodes, along with the passage of time before anyone like Philip took a serious enough interest in these marvellous shows and began interviewing participants. There are so many other actors like Annette Andre who appeared in these shows, but we never got to learn some of the interesting stories that occurred behind the scenes. Thanks, Philip! It's always a pleasure to see someone who is an avid fan to the point that they seek out the behind-the-scenes stories and present them. Well done!
