In your opinion. how does it fair against the hbpdw?
@combatreadychannel8 сағат бұрын
Function wise, they are probably going to be the same. The both have some different characteristics that would matter depending on what you’re trying to accomplish. I like the look of the PDW but it doesn’t allow for a folding stock. Which is what I wanted for this particular firearm. If I had a regular AR15 where the stock doesn’t fold then I would probably pick the PDW
@Damnigotaheadache7 сағат бұрын
@@combatreadychannel I appreciate the response. I’m looking at psa’s freedom week sells and they have a hbpdw lower for $299, but there’s also a sba5 lower for $229. For aesthetics and a shorter profile, I’d love the pdw. Though, I’m making a 7 inch ar9 build and someone informed that the hbpdw isn’t compatible with a hydraulic buffer. I guess I was mostly curious if the extra $70 was worth it beyond aesthetics.

6.5 Grendal anyday. Low recoil, more power than either, and shoot out to 800+ yards! Just wish the price wasn't so high, and the ammo so little in availability

@johnc32254 күн бұрын
Thanks, what about putting an optic on top of the gas tube/hand guard? You think it will be too far from your eyes? I’ve seen a few photos of it mounted this way but it looks like it could be an issue.
@combatreadychannel4 күн бұрын
A lot of ppl do that. It won’t work with anything that has magnification though. So you’re limited to red dots only. I don’t like having my optic that far forward but it’s just preference. I would not recommend a rail directly on the gas tube. The gas tube will get very hot and that heat will transfer into your optics and could cause problems. So if you go this route I’d say to get a handguard mount.

Is this PSA picatinny dust cover still available? I don’t see it on their website only the ribbed one.
@combatreadychannel5 күн бұрын
It is but I’d goes out of stoke very quick. I was on a waiting list for the one I got and it was out of stock 15mins after I got a “back in stock” notification. Texas Weapons Systems has this style of dust cover.

How much is that setup?.. it's an adapter or directly mounted to KeyMo muzzle? Can't really tell.
@combatreadychannel5 күн бұрын
If I remember correctly. It was around 1,500. The muzzle device has threading for the blast shield behind the keymo attachment point.
@znismo15 күн бұрын
@combatreadychannel oh ok, so you do need an adapter. I wonder why no company has made a direct attach blast shield to keymo muzzle devices, just like Surefire has with their Warden blast shield that directly attaches to their Surefire muzzle devices. It just sucks because I have to pay double since I would need to buy 2 pieces, the adapter and the blast shield for my KeyMo muzzles
@combatreadychannel5 күн бұрын
@@znismo1hmmm 🤔yeah, you’d think it would have been done by now. It wouldn’t be that hard to do.
@aznazguy4 күн бұрын
Sadly, this version with the hub threads is no longer rated for barrels under 10.5". They have another version that is rated for something like an M92, but without the hub threads.

@RFXReign6 күн бұрын

Does that mean that my rifle will shoot backwards too 😬 Seriously though. This mount doesn’t have any type of minute of angle so it can go one way or the other.
@shoota3146 күн бұрын
“Can” and “should” are two very different concepts…
@combatreadychannel6 күн бұрын
@shoota314 so why should it be mounted the other way?
@shoota3146 күн бұрын
Because the design intent is to allow for the scope to be mounted farther forward then a standard rings would allow on the shorter AR15 receiver. That being said if you can get the proper eye relief without having the mount extend past the end of the receiver do you…

Throw it in mud tho a open bolt design can be hard
@combatreadychannel7 күн бұрын
Yes and no 🤷, some of the best rifles do not have a dust cover. The M4 platform is one of the few really. The scar, cz Bren 2, Tavor, ak47/74, G36, vz58 and many more military issue rifles do not have a bolt dust covers. So I’m not really sure if the dust cover offers that much more benefit. If it did, you’d think more modern rifles would implement it but it seems like more of the newer designs are getting rid of it.
