2013 an MRI showed a cyst on my right ovary that was likely an endometrioma. Follow up scan 2 yrs later no change. MRI 2018 endometrioma decreased in size so after that then covid came and follow ups and screening took a back seat. Even in nursing school I don't remember learning about endometriosis. GP did not seem concerned about it either. Fast forward to 2023 I got diagnosed with clear cell ovarian ca. Kicking myself for not being more vigilant .

I was diagnosed 3b clear cell June 2023 had complete hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo oophorectomy and omentectomy July 2023 then chemo August to November 2023. All my drs say that there are 2 groups of women with clear cell, those diagnosed early sometimes do poor and then those diagnosed sometimes do better. So far all my scans have been clear and my surgeon thinks I will be part of the good group. Fingers crossed for both of us

My wife is suffering from BRCA2 +Ve and HRD +Ve High Grade Serous Stage 3c Ovarian Cancer since last one year, currently she is on maintenance doses of Olaparib. Unfortunately my daughter is also BRCA2 +Ve, my question is that can my daughter start Olaparib in minimum doses as a prophylactic?

Amen to 'cured'! I was first told that an ovarian cancer recurrence isn't 'curable' - that it's a matter of when, not if it will recur. I refuse to accept that statement! This talk has been so encouraging!!

I am so grateful as a survivor dealing with recurrence for this series, Runsi and her behind the scenes team, and all of the experts that are so giving of their time! When first diagnosed with recurrence and upon discovering this resource, it has been so nice to have a massive library of helpful information, rather than getting lost on "Dr. Google". It truly is a priceless resource, and provides me so much hope in terms of advancements in OC research and treatment and more targeted detection and therapies for myself and women in the future as well. The B.E.A.C.H. symptoms and awareness are no doubt saving lives!

While mucinous ovarian cancer is more rare, there does seem to be a large population amongst us that is caught in either this pre-cancerous or Stage 1. Is there a particular Center that is focused on this subtype? Essentially, how do we get our samples to the right researchers, as survivors?

Thank you. I have just been diagnosed with serous carcinomas and starting my research . I had a full hysterectomy 😮 and a stint from my kidneys to my bladder. The tumor from my right ovaries has left a skinny dry fallopian tube and climbed up towards my right kidney via my bladder. The really amazing thing is I feel really well 10 days after surgery. I feel really positive about my future. A different perspective.

What about Clear Cell ovarian cancer? the Ovarian Cancer world hasn't developed a single treatment that has shown effectiveness for Clear Cell, and they are treated with treatments developed for high grade serous, and those treatments don't work because clear cell has a completely different molecular structure. So gyn onc knowingly treats patients with the wrong treatment with sideeffects but then death.

I was diagnosed with clear cell carcinoma ovarian cancer stage 3b, surgically removed 8 lbs tumor with total hysterectomy in September of 2023. Didn’t go through chemotherapy as my heart didn’t agree with it. I have recovered and doing well so far. This was an excellent interview and when he mentioned the link between acute depression/ stress and the ovarian cancer it hit close to me as I was going through problems and was often depressed prior to the diagnosis. There are other added factors like diet and not having clean bowel movements and bladder can also be the cause for progression of the disease. Having positive outlook, good diet and rest, clean bowel movements, besides good support system has helped post surgery and during recovery. I believe and hope I’ll recover fully without any recurrence. I hope my experience helps anyone out there going through this

Totally agree, I went through horrendous life events, became very stressed and depressed (so much so that it was classed as clinical depression treated with SSRIs, and after a few months was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Luckily early stage bc of chance - the tumour caused blood clots in legs and lung and the leg pain sent me to GP - of course they might also have killed me but I was lucky). I’m convinced there is a connection. Changed those life factors causing the misery and now have amazing support, and happiness; Wishing you all the best with continued remission!

I pray and hope for your normal, healthy and content life; and hope you don’t have any mental and physical hardships for the rest of your life. Please don’t let any life stressors get to you as the added pain, sufferings, emotional and financial burden that comes with it is not worth it. I have made conscious change not to let things bother to an extreme. Also eat healthy and clean food and rest well. Take good care of yourself always

Hi, really the discussion was very interesting and very informative. My wife is suffering from Stage 3c high grade Serous Ovarian Cancer. She has just completed last neoadjuvant chemotherapy, after surgery the surgeon told me, what Dr Sood told, that there are some unresectable back scares or spots left on small intestine, if my doctor could have a pen as Dr Sood mentioned, I would be rest assured that there is total removal of all visible tumors , She may get a better chance of Progression Free Survival
