Hi! I don’t think insurance would cover an iPhone, but good news is, any iPhone that runs IOS 16 or 17 is compatible with the Mobi app. I just looked up the price on some of the older phones that can run this and the iPhone SE (2nd generation) can be purchased refurbished for around $100! You might be able to find something even cheaper. I hope this helps!!

Hello Jillian, Yes, I have contacted them several times. Yesterday, they called me to discuss the air bubbles. The person I spoke with said they were aware of the situation from other Diabetics as well. I was told to leave the air bubble in my cartridge and wear it upside down so the air rests at the back of the cartridge. Unfortunately, I do not like having all the tubing hanging down so low on my waist. Oh well, I guess I have to be patient with Tandem since it is so new. I ado am frustrated with Control IQ giving me a correction bolus when I am in sleep mode. I always wake up too low. I was told I must have the wrong settings programmed, but no troubleshooting to correct it. I am frustrated with Mobi; however, I do love the small size. Thank you for all of your informative videos!😊

It looks so bulky to wear. What are any reasons or advantages to wearing it?
@JillianBoileau
@JillianBoileau 11 күн бұрын
It is pretty bulky for me. It's slightly smaller than the Omnipod 5, but the tubing adds to it. A reason for using the adhesive sleeve would be to keep it concealed. Some diabetics are self conscious or don't like answering questions about the devices they use. I used to be this way before I got a CGM and a pump. Now I feel like it helps connect me with other diabetics and gives me a chance to educate people who don't know much about our condition. I think the sleeve is great for athletes and very active individuals. The 5 inch tubing is much shorter. Having the tubing under my shirt when i wear the sleeve makes me feel like there is less chance of my site being pulled out by children or catching on a door handle. It's also makes wearing a bathing suit or a dress easier.

Does it use the same Profiles as the TSlim? Are they adjusted on the app? (I've never understood why we can't adjust profiles on the app!)
@JillianBoileau
@JillianBoileau 11 күн бұрын
As far as I know, there is no way to transfer your profiles from t:slim to the Mobi. I believe this is why they have you fill out a data sheet during training. You use the Mobi app to make adjustments for everything. This app allows you to do so much more than t:connect did for the t:slim!

Good review Jillian, thank you. You mentioned that you don't use Control IQ. A video on just how CIQ works and what are some of the downsides would be helpful. I only use it overnight as I find I can do a better job of controlling during the day, largely because of how Control IQ overcompensates and only gives you 60% of the correction bolus you need, leading to prolonged highs.

Thank you, thank you!! I actually talked about this in an earlier video i'll link here for you: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7uHdcVjmL2vpoU.html The reasons you listed are some of the main reasons I don't use Control IQ very often. I also like to be in a lower range than 110 when I'm in really good control. I often found that CIQ would run me much higher than 110 most of the time. I'd like to mess around with the algorithm when I have some time and tweak my numbers to keep me lower. I know many have luck with this, but I haven't found the right formula to have much success yet. It would make a great video and I believe it would be helpful to many. Thank you for your comment!!

I myself don't choose to use Control Iq very often. I DO think it has the best algorithm for any auto-mode currently on the market, but it still has many drawbacks for me. Thank you for this review. I’ve been a diabetic now for 18 years and I’m in the process of getting my first pump. I chose the Mobi because of my active lifestyle and was worried about having long tubes hanging from my pockets. And I was able to stick the Moby to me and use my shirt as protection for the tube, but I am a newbie at this and we’ll see how it goes .ps pumps used to scare me because I wasn’t in control of the amount of insulin that was directly being injected, but my doctor assures me that they are completely safe🧐🤷
@JillianBoileau
@JillianBoileau Ай бұрын
You’re welcome! Those are valid feelings! I was nervous with my first pump. It was new and scary. The main thing you need to remember is that you aren’t taking any long acting insulin. So with small amounts of rapid acting insulin in its place for basal, with a hiccup you need to be cautious of DKA. It can come on very suddenly with the use of a pump. As long as you are in decent control, you should see the signs of a pump occlusion or a bad site before you go too high. A CGM will alert you so I’d certainly recommend using one with a pump. This can still happen with MDI if you inject long acting into scar tissue so I wouldn’t let this deter you from using a pump. I’m so excited for you! I think the Mobi will be absolutely perfect for you!

@mad0uche @Injustice.Exposed In my opinion, none of the algorithms are ideal for pumps (unless you are taking the diy loop route), however, I do believe that Control IQ is far superior to the Smart Adjust algorithm that Omnipod uses. Ive been using the mobi for almost 3 months and I like it. I was afraid to be tethered to a charging cable and the 200 unit cartridge. I was using Medtronic and i refused to use their unreliable harpoon thick needle Guardian Continuous blood glucose monitor. The charging is very fast, from 85 to 100% in 10 minutes. It is so lightweight and small, I don't even feel it in my pocket. It's not like the Medtronic heavy brick, i had to carry in my pocket. I swim with it without any problems. My control- IQ is on 24/7 and I wake up every morning with my blood glucose between 100 and 113, i love it!!! For those that doesn't know yet, the cartridge can be refilled without having to put a new one in every time. It can also be charged with any wireless charger, You don't have to use the one that came with the mobi. Some things that definitely will make the mobi better is a bigger cartridge. The app, needs some work. Add more numbers to the graph. They show on mine 140 and then 400, what about 200 and 300. It will just make it easier to read, The same with the time, 2pm and then 4 pm. I can't really see how high my BS was at a certain time. I also had some connection issues with the dexcom so a better bluetooth signal will make it better. Anyway, I love the mobi and are looking forward to see some software and firmware updates.

Did u get around 2 watching the Dr Bernstein KZfaq about reversing complications? I remember he told a story about a patient of his who wad scheduled 4 eye surgery - the patient decided to hold off on the procedure and do everything Dr B recommend. The patient returned to the eye doctor and there had been so much improvement it was determined that the operation was no longer necessary. The eye doc called Dr B with questions because he had never seen that before and acknowledged he didn't even know it was possible etc. If the story wasn't in the video I sent u the link 4 then it is elsewhere but I remember it well. My own retinopathy diagnosis initially was moderate but has since been changed to mild. Diabetics should spread the good news about what is possible. Of course Dr B IS responsible and explained that it depends of course on how advanced the existing damage is and that it's going to take time 2 c healing/reversal/improvement. U can't change the past but u can decide to change NOW!!!

Yes, I did! I don’t recall him talking about that particular story in the video you linked, but I think he may have mentioned it in his book. I’d have to go back and check. It’s amazing how many people’s lives Dr B has changed. One of the main reasons I started my channel was to present his findings to other diabetics who haven’t come across this information before. It’s so unreal how you can turn your life/health around with a few substitutions and a little discipline. I admit, it takes constant effort, but it beats the alternative of living the rest of your life with debilitating consequences. Keep on spreading the news of your success, my friend!!

I know you said it’s hard to measure the amount wasted, but I know it takes over 12 units to fill my 23 inch tubing. So for 5 inch tubing, let’s estimate it takes 2.5 units. That’s 9.5 units less than the 23 inch tubing. So if you change your site every 3 days, that’s 95 units less to be wasted. That’s about 3 days worth of insulin for me. If you are paying out of pocket for your insulin, I’d like to say that this could be a deciding factor for someone shopping around.

Please check out my video: Omnipod 5 vs T:Slim X2: Which Device Works Best for Me kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b66KY9GQp7m-eok.html Although it’s comparing the t:slim to the O5, the reasons I prefer the Mobi over the O5 would mostly be the same. The main reason wound probably be Control IQ over Smart Adjust (the auto-modes). While I don’t use this too often, I feel like it’s one of the main reasons someone would get either one of these pumps. Let me know if you have anymore questions!!

Check out the Mobi or info about the Sigi Patch Pump. Both are by Tandem and the Mobi is out now. The Mobi isn’t completely tubeless yet, but it’s a nice option. I’m releasing a video about my experience with it soon so please stay tuned!!

I just have a few questions, 1 im diabetic and I have to take an auto injection. Do I need to remove the auto injections in a different bag to be x rayed or can they go in with my meds? 2 I use a lunch box to carry all my meds and supplies. Would I still be able to use that as my med bag or would I have to pack it in a different bag?

Hi how are your eyes now, the video was really helpful, waiting to have treatment and I am really nervous ❤

Hello! My eyes feel fine now! I’m actually on the second round of treatment now. I had my right eye treated a couple weeks ago and my left eye will be treated on Wednesday. Originally, my doctor thought I’d be good with one treatment, but further testing showed that to not be true. They are hoping this will be the last round, but it’s hard to know for sure. The most concerning thing I go through with these procedures is my sight isn’t quite what it usually is until a couple weeks later. It’s almost like my vision seems a little dull. You just need to remember that it will take time for your eyes to heal and your vision to go back to normal. You will notice some side effects in that process, but everything will be fine if you give it some time. Thank you for the feedback! I’m glad this video was helpful!! Please let me know if you have anymore questions 🤗

Great video im thinking of going on the x2 but how do you actually sleep when you have the tube connected to you all night??
@JillianBoileau
@JillianBoileau 7 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’m so used to being connected to a pump! I hardly notice it!! It has never bothered me and I move around quite a bit while I’m sleeping. The thing with the t:slim is the clip doesn’t work well and it tends to fall off occasionally so just make sure you get in the habit of grabbing for it before you get up and you will be just fine 😉 Also, please check out Tandem’s next pump (set to be released anytime now) which will be tubeless and still uses them same algorithm as the t:slim. You can watch my video about it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kNmFoNeF26_Qpp8.htmlsi=fc6H3GOh2fO3Pkvy I will be giving my honest review about this pump when it hits the market, so make sure you subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already.

@@DavidGoodall-ud4zo you can do it!!!!! I just want to make sure you know that the Omnipod 5 only holds 200-units like the Mobi. If you are considering the O5, I would recommend the Mobi over it, but thats just me.

Thank you ❤️ Have you looked into DIY Looping? It’s a great option and can be done using Omnipod DASH. The t:slim is great though!! If you are interested in the t:slim, you might want to wait for the Mobi pump to come out in January. I have a video about it 😉 Let me know if you have any questions. Selecting an insulin pump is a big commitment!!

my son's BS spikes when he exercises as well. How do you manage this?
@JillianBoileau
@JillianBoileau 9 ай бұрын
I take a bolus prior to working out. I dose it right before I begin my warmup. If I workout later in the day, I don’t need as much, but I enjoy working out early. Also, cardio doesn’t spike me as much so I bolus on the lighter side the days I do cardio. Mild cardio, such as, power walking will even drop me a little. Just be careful with the boluses because every workout is different!!! I have this topic on my list of upcoming videos!!

Yes I would love to watch a video about this. It’s so hard esp bc they are both so little I don’t want to over bolus but also don’t want them running in the 300’s while they play.

Hi Jillian, thanks for the video, Dr. Bernstein really changed my life as well. I was wondering if you can make a video with more specifics on how you combine the Bernstein method with your Tandem pump with CIQ. From your other videos I think you use the sleep mode to make the pump keep you in a tighter range but that’s still not as tight as Dr. B recommends. Doesn’t the pump “fight” you when you want to keep your bg’s a little tighter? If so how do you fight back? So maybe a video about how do you cover a low carb high protein meal during the day would be very helpful. Thanks again for your videos!!

Hi!!! That’s a great idea for a video! I’ll attempt to get a video on this topic out within the next month. So, I don’t use Control IQ on a regular basis, but I do from time to time. It isn’t perfect, but can be used as a tool when you are having a hard time with blood sugar fluctuations or are busy with life. The pump does “fight” me when I’m trying to keep my blood sugars lower, but there are a few ways around this. I’ve heard of types 1’s being able to keep blood sugars in the 90’s most of the time on C1Q, but I believe that is with a lot of micro boluses. I have not come close to perfecting this technique. I’ll get started on this topic.! Thank you for the suggestion and I hope I can help and learn something along the way

Hi, do you use R insulin?
@JillianBoileau
@JillianBoileau 2 ай бұрын
Hello! Sorry, I'm just now seeing this! I have used R insulin in the past when I was on multiple daily injections. Now, with my pump, I use an extended bolus to cover my low carb/high protein meals. It works similarly to how R would.

Hi! Nice report. Perhaps you can tell us what types of insulin cartridges and sizes will the tslim accept?
@JillianBoileau
@JillianBoileau 10 ай бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! The t:slim x2 uses 3 ml t:lock cartridges. They hold up to 300 units of insulin. I believe they are the only cartridges made to be used with this pump. The Mobi will use cartridges that will hold up to 200 units. I imagine these will use the same t:lock technology as the t:slim’s, but I cannot currently find any other information on this.
