Absolutely gorgeous North Carolina mountain setting, no question about that. But the inside of the house is as cold, ultra modern and sterile as any expensive apartment in New York City. The decor of this house is of such contrast with the surroundings as to be almost laughable. If an interested buyer appreciates and loves the mountain location, that person would hate the house. If an interested buyer appreciates and loves the house, that person would hate the mountain location.

It's gone through several price reductions to a STILL insanely high price of $24 million. Which for a 12,000 sq ft house on 5 acres in the Asheville area is absolutely asinine!!!

Okay maybe it's just me, but does anyone feel like this house doesn't have much personality?? Like, it's lacking warmth and character? The yard and pool are beautiful, but sheesh, that seems like it would be really hard to maintain!!

@@sanelelembethe Beautiful, sure, but at $34 million it's insanely, painfully, ridiculously, stupidly expensive. It's like 12,000 sq ft on 5 acres. Even by Asheville's laughably high real estate prices this one is top of the heap ridiculous. And seeing as it's gone through several price cuts to a still asinine $24 million it was obviously overpriced to begin with.

Maintenance costs? We have trouble finding a good house cleaner here. What the heck are they going to do when those shades are stuck halfway down? Who knows how to maintain that fish tank? I’d give money that says that is why they are selling!

NC's most expensive house is also in NC's area of the highest priced homes anywhere in the state. It actually makes perfect sense. If it was in Franklin, Yadkinville, Tillery or Bolivia at this price -- *THAT* would make no sense.

The "estate" itself isn't really all that large. Just 5 acres - so that makes this $34 mil asking price that much more of a joke!! Last I heard it had gone through 2 or 3 price reductions and was down to a still too ridiculously high $24 million. Even as crazy expensive as Asheville area real estate prices have gotten, this is just stupidly expensive. Gorgeous home, sure, but still insanely expensive.

Taylor Zymowski I’m younger but I went snowboarding there for my first time and by the end of the day I was easily going down the black diamonds but one of the trails started to loose snow/ice to the point where it was just dirt for around 1 1/2 feet and that’s the only down side I have

I've been to Cat over 40 times. The difficulty of Cat comes from the icy narrow trails. The Black Diamond is quite steep and challenging when iced over.
