14:00 I wonder who last held that lead weight before you? I wonder what product did it last weigh out? I wonder what they said and in what language when the owner realised they'd lost it?

I would guess that ALEX is a reference to Alexandria in Egypt.

P.O.W. = Prisoner Of War Fortunato = Lucky (fortunate) Lucky Paolo Sidi Omar is an Ancient Senussi Tomb located in the Egyptian desert in the Matrouh Governorate. Not certain on what or who ALEX is but 1-12-41 is January 12, ??41…

Your 'Rose farthing' looks to be a 17th Century Traders Token Paddy, same period of course, but you can just see the outline of the three initials on one side which is usual for the issue. And might the 'long bit' be a knife handle of some kind? Very interesting though and all power to your elbow for your next trip out, Doug.
@paddydetects10 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot for watching Doug, I thought there was a possibility it was a traders token however wasn’t 100% sure as we’d had a few there before in other fields. Thanks for the kind comment 😁

Great to see Paddy and Gary ( and cameraman Dad!) Thinking of eating a D2 Master. Could you share your settings please. Thanks again
@paddydetects10 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot for watching, I would definitely recommend the D2 master. Really sorry I can’t remember what settings we were using as it was a few months ago, I would recommend going over to Gary’s channel (Metal Detecting Skills School) and having a look at what program he’s used before.

Always love your enthusiasm. However, this video was “Daddy Detects”. The Camer@man had his Father’s Day for sure. The American one cent was a newer coin perhaps 1990- in 1982 copper was replaced with a zinc alloy, thus we call them Zincolns. On to the next one…thanks for sharing.

Thanks a lot for watching, really appreciate the kind comment. I do study history in school for my GCSE’s however I don’t study any particular area. The reason I do know quite a few things is just because of all the amazing things my dad and I find!
