Is there a recommended lubricant for the spring?

Thought it was an American flyer but I've never seen those models with reverse. It looks like the first electric af made without the headlight. Next one was the same but with a headlight. The casting sure looks af! Unless someone installed a reverse switch in it.

The unit is based on a small group of prototype ex-Rio Grande F-units that were traded to EMD. Due to still being in good condition they were, in turn, leased to the Penn Central. They received the Penn Central "worm" stickers and put into service but were soon repainted into PC black. I'd like to get one of these units in a "non-sound" version and install either a LokSound Select or a TCS-WOW sound system. Would fit in nicely for my late 60's-early 70's east coast model theme.

A lovely engine! Nice to see it running at a scale speed rather than how some people gun it up to full regulator and watch it try to shake its self to bits! Looks much better with a half canopy too. Great job!
