Went through the same thing with my dad's 024. Dealer said carb was bad and couldn't be fixed and to buy a new saw. After a Google search I found a replacement and saw is up and running again. Everybody talks down on these saws today cause underpowered in today's world but in the 80's and 90's they were top notch. Love using it because it was Dad's saw! Thanks for posting this vid.

Us country boys know what ya'll talking 'bout. Greetings from the North, Finland. Damn I want this winch. Pricey, but will last forever, me thinks.
@yankeenimrod20638 күн бұрын
Still running it and it does work well there are a couple of things that make me think it will not last forever mainly there's no way of changing or add the gear oil you have to take it apart and then reseal the housing , there is a brass bushing that does allow oil to leak …. I'll see if I can put up a video at some point this summer,

Damn I want one of these Simpson winches. You can have as long a rope as you can carry. Lewis chainsaw winch is a drum winch, so you are limited to the length of wire that fits the drum.

Wish would have watched this a few years ago before I bought some BPI #6 nickel plated shot! It’s pretty soft stuff. It killed a double bearded Tom turkey. It DID drag feathers into the meat. More than lead ever did. I misted bought 15 pounds of magnum lead #5’s instead of more nickel. Magnum lead has killed a lot of turkeys for me over the decades,

It's definitely a great climbing saw. My Dad had planted 6 oak trees in our 1/4 acre back yard when I was 12. Now I'm 50 and the grass in the 1/4 acre backyard isn't getting any sunlight. So I realize that 2 of the 6 oak trees must be removed. I parked my 17' duck boat, with a 6' X 6' flat front deck, under a 46' tall, massively limbed oak tree in my backyard. I raised my 32' aluminum ladder to 30', set on the flat front deck of the boat, already 5' off the ground. I centered the top of the ladder on the tree trunk 35' up the trunk. I strapped the top of the ladder to the oak tree two rungs under the top of the ladder. Now I can climb the 30' ladder, locking my feet on the rung where the strapping holds the ladder fast to the trunk. I was able to raise the Echo CS-330T chainsaw up to the spreading limbs; cutting them one by one, as they drop to the ground. I had the 16" bar on the saw, so it was a slow process working by myself to cut the 2 oak trees down. I also had to use a rope operated chainsaw chain thrown over a too-long limb with a sandbag on a nylon rope leader. But eventually all that remained of the two oaks were the flat disks of the bases of the trunks, cut off at ground level.

I have a 2018 model, and after all the board feet, it is still the best money for a tool i ever spent

Not sure why you’re powder coating the slugs. They’ll never contact the barrel while they’re inside the wad. Also find the right wad for your hull and you won’t need a nitro card.

HOW ABOUT THE D-LEAD SOAP? IT'S GOOD WITH REMOVING LEAD AS WELL.

This video makes my fuzzy nipples hard! B t w If you don't have a welder and don't mind risking your life, then one could use a battery with reverse Polarity with a pair of jumper cables as your electrode holder... etc. Etc you get the idea.. where theres a will, theres a way. To the guy up top commenting about thousands of dollars equipment, blah blah blah.You're an idiot.This guy just has good craftsmanship.Obviously if you wanted to do it crude and fast all you would need is a stick welder or any welder for that matter and just tack weld some 10 mm or appropriate sized bolts in the backside Of one of those oil filter removal tools and then reinforce the welds. The only thing of importance is just that the bolts need to be postioned correctly and be clise to the same height (real close) so that they lineup with the holes that they need to go through so that you will have something to grip on when torquing that s*** or twerking it. Lol

Nice work. I just screw 2 fasteners in opposing drain holes and carefully use a small pry bar or whatever to break torque. They make tools specifically for this now, by the way.

Mine is a 1988 245DL and if I do have that I don't inow where it's located. Mine won't idle at all and when I floor it it will rev up but sputter. Kinda leaning toward fuel pump since it's been hesitating and sluggish in hills before this happened.

On our 940 B230FK, when it starts it idles smoothly. However after it warms up, the idle goes off. When you stop at traffic lights, the engine will dip by 100rpm every third or fourth beat, causing a shake. Any idea what's up there?

Good video. I’ve been loading pistol and rifle for a while, and now just getting into shotshell loading. Learning the impact different primers have on different powders has been eye opening. It’s early 2024 and 209 primers are few and far between. Cheddite are easy to get so I’ll need to sacrifice a few shells to the larger size. Thank you for posting the pics with the dimensions.

They made two different models back then I think. One of them is the 870 Wingmaster AP, which I use for duck hunting today. Shot the 16 gauge version as a kid hunting ducks with my grandpa. After years of shooting autoloaders, I bought the 12 gauge version made in 1951. I beat the snot out of that old 16 gauge and shot it really well, just like the 12 gauge today.
