I am currently reading I Am Homeless If This Is Not My Home. It’s among the best books of 2023. First, it’s hilarious. A lot of death humor, so kind of mordant, but nevertheless hilarious. It’s important to note that the historical fiction part of the book does NOT take place during the time of Abraham Lincoln. It is after the Civil War during reconstruction. The 21st century part takes place in 2016. Both times when America, like the characters in the book, went a little bit sideways and off kilter. While the novel is quite funny it is also about love and grief and longing and I found it to be poignant and moving. Five stars from me. Highly recommend.

Hi Lisa! So for Moore’s book - usually I listen to my audiobooks at 2.5 and for this one I had to slow it down to get into it. Once I did that (get through the first 40 pages or so) it really picked up and got me. Tell me what you think about Shame’s audio. Happy Reading.
