Will Dorico transpose upon input like Finale? In other words, I play sax and use a wind controller for note input. If I play my controller into the flute stave, will it automatically transpose to the flute key?

Move the Finale project files you wish to convert (.musx and .mus) to a single folder. Launch Finale and close the Launch Window when it appears. Choose File > Export > Translate Folder to MusicXML. A Finder (Mac) or a File Explorer window (Windows) appears. Select the folder containing the Finale project files you want to convert and click OK (Windows) or Open (Mac). A dialog box appears reading This will overwrite existing MusicXML files with the same name as the Finale Files. Do you want to continue? Click Yes. A progress bar will appear showing the progress of the MusicXML exports. Once the files have completed, the progress bar will disappear and the new MusicXML files will be available in the folder you selected in Step 4.

Finale: On Aug 26, 2024 Make Music has announced they are killing Finale. They are recommending users port to Dorico. I have used Finale for 22 years and have learned to get around its 1000 Bugs. My big concern is not being able to import Finale files except by MusicXML. I have 22 years of work, some of which will have to be imported.

Thank you so much for this video. I just got the terrible news today and had to crossgrade. I've used Finale everyday for 25 years and never wanted to have to learn a new app. I just don't have time or energy but I'm forced to I guess. This video is helpful in that journey.

I am really miss going to miss finale. especially the fast switching between note durations. Sadly it's been super buggy for me lately so i haven't used it as much. with it being discontinued i'm worried about my old songs getting lost. I've been using it since around 2002.

I just got a MPE keyboard. This is helping me understand a lot about its routing.

I want to use the BRIGHT colors on my buttons as the default state. I cant figure out how to make the default color the brighter version I select in the picker. It only shows that color when I press the button so it makes it very dark, which I dont like. Is there a way to change this? Thanks!

Why this has to be so complicated, I still can't understand anything about numbers and ports, I wish there were another way to connect devices wirelessly 💔😭 BTW Android user here, can't make it work since years.

I mean this completely genuinely and as someone who has used both- you will have an easier time using and get a better ("more perfect") appearing score using musescore 4 studio. A lot of people seem to overlook it because it's an open software but really, it's far better than Finale or Sibelius and is amazing to work with. Only thing I'd say is a step up is Dorico, but you don't even really need that unless you're making more graphic scores.

The meter continues to work even if the track is muted.

This does not appear to work for me when using Pagers. Is there a way to adjust the script so it works on a particular page of a pager?

For Ableton I use touchAble Pro! OSC is sooo complicated. I tried many times and for a long time to control Show Buddy Active with TouchOSC without any success. Although I would call myself a MIDI expert, I never managed to do that. I also watched your videos on TouchOSC, they are really good, thank you very much for that! I even managed to connect it to my iPad once and OSC data was displayed in Protocoll. But that was the only thing I ever managed and never again after that. It's a shame because I would actually much rather use it than MIDI. But MIDI just works and is much better documented.

great video !, i've mk1 app because of my ipad 3. this version doesnt open .tosc files, so i've to create the layouts in the old TouschOSC editor, i put the OSC name "/drums" but nothing changes, when i change the label in live i see the msj receiving in my ipad !, but nothing changes, is there another syntax or something diferent in this version ? thanks ! Ps: my layoust working perfect with buttoms and faders

You also need itunes or ipad drivers installed on your pc. Otherwise, it won't work :) struggled a while to find this out :D

Is there any guide how to make it work on the same computer ? (Just wanted to make my second monitor with only infos I need from 3 different programs - just to display) cheers

That script nudge is using structure c# , c++, Lua, Phyton.? Or is it a mix from all. On your site right click is not showing copy . must use CNTRL+C . Thanks . Was testing the midi mapping parameters from Serum VST3 in reaper 7.17 to TouchOSC fader with midi . But after learning the A_Vol knob from Serum is will follow in slow motion and reaper will crash. Will try with OSC . Have to find out how to map the Serum VST3 parameter to OSC?

Using the address When I'm using /scene/Scene_1 it does work, but when I try /previewScene/Scene_1 as you described in the video. I'm getting Error: There is no "Scene_1" in OBS. Double check case sensitivity. OSC Recieved: /previewScene/Scene_1". Any idea why the previewScene command tells me the scene is not available while it actually is?? Thx

Hi, thank you for your videos! Can you help me plese? I have a knob i touchOSC, and it receives value from max4live ableton device which takes it from another devices parameter. So i would like to change a color for that knob if parameter is automated. I have figured out how to capture automation_stete in max4live, but i cant figre out how to send automation_state data to touchOSC so it would change the color of knob.. Can it be done with a single message like 'adress-message' where 'adress' = a knob name 'message' = value+automation_state ? i see that there is a scripting options like - function onReceiveOSC(message, connections) local path = message[1] local arguments = message[2] for i=1,#arguments do print('\t argument =', arguments[i].tag, arguments[i].value) end end so message can have children? can i put there value and color? thanks! any help would be aprecitaed ASAP)))))

I'm having an issue that I don't know how to fix, maybe you or someone else can. I'm using Touch OSC via MIDI wired. I have to use Wired because of unreliable venue WIFI and minimal setup time. All of my buttons are successfully triggering events in Ableton and OSB. My issue is that the buttons triggering events in Ableton stay illuminated for a while and sometimes when I touch one of the buttons, multiple buttons illuminate at the same time. It's intermittent. Any ideas what it could be?

After watching this and also a video from White Sea studios on how he uses a stream deck with Bitfocus companion to send OSC messages to Reaper to open plugin’s and do some actions, this video just tided things together for me to help me with creating my touchscreen controller (and saves me pulling the trigger on a stream deck, for now!)

how do I let touch osc receive messages from my track arm/disarm buttons? The faders in ableton receive messages by default and work perfectly in sync!

Tim, thanks for a great video. I've got everything connected and talking from Ableton to TouchOSC and vice versa however, I'm running into an issue when I try and change time signatures within the timeline in arrangement view. Say I'm in 4/4 for the first 16 measures, then on the 17th measure I change the time signature to 3/4. The bar count on my device jumps to higher number and the beat count gets off as well. For the 3/4 measure, it doesn't read bar 17 beat 1 within TouchOSC. It reads bar 22 beat 2. If I try changing back to 4/4 on the 18th measure, it reads bar 17 beat 4. Now the entire count is off afterwards. Any ideas on what's causing that or how to fix it? Thanks for your help!

Hey Tim. Really appreciate your videos. Forgive my ignorance as I’m newer to TouchOSC. As far as putting the information into your M4L device, for the IP address, that’s the iPad’s (in my case) IP Address correct? As for the port number, I have no idea what to put there. I’ve tried researching to find it. I’m using TouchOSC bridge to connect if that matters. How do I find the port number?
