Super Wide Band mode Press "NO.Key 0"+"PTT keypad" and in the same time"Power on",put into password " 228228",then press " ENT" to confirm. You can see the LCD display " FREO-1"........1 mean 136-174MHz the LCD display " FREO-2"........2 mean 200-260MHz the LCD display " FREO-3"........3 mean 320-400MHz the LCD display " FREO-4"........4 mean 400-520MHz If your radio is 144-146MHz,use " FREO-1"........1 mean 136-174MHz ,then press "ENT" again,then input number 136174.the radio will power on again. It is ok for your open the band from 144-146MHz to 136-174MHz Remember to change the antenna of it follow the band, original antenna just single band, dual band antenna will work fine..

Great, some dumb ass posts a picture of a yaesu hand held transceiver with a cracked screen. It gets better, you get to hear a bunch of gibberish about whatever in an oriental dialect. This whole train wreck comes up whenever I attempt to find a review for YAESU FT-416 what a pathetic joke.

I made one from 6 AA NiMH EBL 2800mAh, purchased from Amazon. I got rid of all old battery cells and reuse the battery case. The case will cover only 1/2 size of AA batteries, but it works. Use another charger to charge this "new" 1.2x6=7.2V.

i bought an ICOM P2AT after I got my 2 metre license after studying hard for it in 1993. I paid for it by shoveling snow for a family friend. When the Web became available I found fewer people on 2 metres. A local CBer got me to trade this for a computer hard drive. I found that the battery needed replacing after about 2 years. At one time in 93-94 I received voice on DO-17. One guy was in Calif. while the other was in NY/NJ, and I was in Winnipeg, Canada. Would like to get back into 2 metres, but I dont know if it is worth it again or not.
