I've listened to this bit at least 30 times and I still don't know who Joe Pasquali is. I refuse to to look him up out of principle.

I love the fact that Stewart Lee will often take out a piece of paper, as a prop, and read from it, when there's no way he doesn't know his whole act word for word

It's a pity Stewart Lee doesn't steal jokes. By far the most overrated comedian.

Stewart Lee has a face that is not like a real face. His "face" is like the roots of a Virgin Beech tree deep in the protected regions of the virgin Romanian forests. Protected, on paper, from Ikea's savage chainsaws but ultimately destined to be savagely slashed and mutilated and turned into a three tier computer desk. A desk that will one day see an ordinary boy make the difficult transition from internet surfer to compulsive public disgrace masturbator.

Don't get me wrong I have been to see him loads and I actually pay for his material. I have a copy of comedy vehicle signed by Stu. I obtained his signature when he played Leeds. I queued for ages to get his autograph. He looked me sqaure in the eyes and said "your not supposed to be in here" Its not my fault I am black.

We went to see him last week (23/11/22) in Soho. He cracked two jokes - one on Brexit, one he retold from 1989 (I wasn't there). The remaining 1hr 50min he had the crowd wiping away the tears as he took the piss out of us. And we had no idea.

Mr Lee definitely stole the bit - pull out paper from pocket and read it. Made the delivery of the joke better but Neville Chamberlain did it originally in 1938.

HaHaHa...It took bloody ages to read through the comments and get to yours (sort order!), so I wouldn't count on getting many replies. But I got to it because apart from the ones from haters and the low-watt-bulbs, a lot of comments for a Stewart Lee video are entertainment in themselves. Good effort 😀.

there are many jokes that have been purloined from other comedians or "blokes in the pub" and Mr Lee is doing a sketch on a joke that Mr Pasquale said and had been from someone else...3 things...firstly to pick on Mr P in this way is social bullying implying that it is unique that only MR P has done so..which for a leftie this nastiness is below you...secondly, I suspect that many were not aware of Mr P and thus has given him presence and advertising thus rather than trashing, as what the aim of the spiteful rant was about, it actually helped increase profile...and thirdly...who was Mr Lee...this is almost 20 years old and not seen much of him..while Mr P is still circulating....

There's great clever comics in the UK like Gervais and Carr etc but Stewart Lee is top of the pile ...Way too clever and brilliant every time ....This is the classic put down and I really hope Joe Pasquale was squirming big time when he must have seen this .... Just brilliant !

On a serious point on "cancelling." If someone does something so terrible that there's enough public backlash, and enough of the population is convinced they're a terrible human being, such that their career is ruined, suffice to say they probably deserved to be "cancelled." And if someone did something only mildly cretinous and reputation-tarnishing, yet not destroying, then they're not cancelled, because there will always be plenty of equally cretinous people around in the masses to consume their content.

Shouldn't lee be at the hague? Maybe all the-more likely now, due to his recent smug progressonazi goose-stepping complicity with the media-pervasive obscene manifesto of the tyrannous medico fascism, mediated by the absurdo'-o'clock '''vaccidental coinci-dology''' of the the pseudo elites'' and their soviet schills and pseudo 'intellectual'' pawns... Who, would be on the dumb ass verge another Kristallnacht if they'd only had what it takes... Merely reproducing the toxic feminine, passive -atrocious, and characteristically cowardly and unprincipled, soviet lockstep with 'any means necessary' and everything thats at the apex of patience testing razz 😒 ...that being said, as an an adoptee myself, I respected the '''''''' out of his comedy, up to a point. Shame. He brings plenty talent. Gs,... Though the dummas would call me a '''denier'''' on things that he believes... with all the self awareness of a David Cameron rat wearing chinos 😒
