I've been using a cog setup on my sbc 400 for years on the street and Interstate driving to the track. I hit 20 psi at 7000 rpm with a Procharger D2R. I've always wanted to try a YSI but years ago a guy talked me out of it because of the flimsy brackets. What's nice about the cog drive is that the belt doesn't have to be very tight. Seems like it's not that hard on any bearings. I did however pin the crankshaft and I'm not using a BBC snout either.

A belt tensioner that I've used before is one from a Ford 6.0L diesel. When you look at the factory belt routing it'll make sense. Eventually we went to the cog though. No complaints.

@@TPVPRO btw, good job stacking the brackets. Somewhere out there is driver side bracket assembly I had made from 3/4" 6061 for a NOVI 2000. I never got around to running a Ysi on the assembly, and I sold it years ago. Never thought of welding two together🤦♂️

You may reach your goal of 20psi but at the expense of putting way too much pressure on the crankshaft. You might have been better off by putting as much psi before you have belt slip and then adding Nitrous to get the power you want
@HeadFlowInc14 күн бұрын
Definitely don’t over tighten the belt, it will kill the bearings in the supercharger.
