Switzer said that 1978 Sooners team was his most TALENTED team he ever had at OU---- Barry said this game vs Nebraska was THE ONE he regretted as Sooners coach..... Nebraska had 5 WALK-ONS playing on their starting defense this game..... Read THAT, AGAIN....

I was 25 years old when this game was played. Now, I'm 69. I was elated when the USA won. Today, feel more emotional then I did in 1980.

Int's were not considered as crucial back then. Back before a QB rating was an issue.

Great to see Ron Boone here, It was sad to see the Utah Stars fold and merge with St. Louis. A few years later Ron returned back to the Utah Jazz, finally retired and still announces for the Jazz.

Wow---- at the 32 min 30 seconds mark, the annoucer mentions Jiu Jitsu---- I bet LESS than 1% of the listening audience there November of 1977 had any clue what Jiu Jitsu was 😂

The first football game I ever watched was the 1965 Texas-Arkansas game. Texas was ranked #1 and Arkansas #2 or #3, depending on the AP or UPI pollsters. I watched Texas halfback Phil Harris fumble twice that lead directly to touchdowns and gave the Hogs a 14-0 lead which they extended to 20-0. Texas came back and was leading 24-20 in the 4th, then, QB Jon Brittenum led the Hogs down the field connecting w/receiver Bobby Crockett. They got to the one yard line and Brittenum scored on a QB sneak and the Hogs beat the Horns 27-24. I hated Arkansas after that … still do.

I remember this was my 8th grade year and during this game I was talking on AOL , chatting with some random girl I met in a chat room and she had actually been watching this game as well . I knew Once Yzerman scored that shorty they were going to find a way to win this game and sweep the series.

Still a Who’s Who of a time gone by. West had some Oldtimers that got an All Star nod after some great rig 6 seasons. This game could have been a Rangers vs Blues shinny with both Blueshirts loadin up the bench.

As happy as I was when the the Huskers won this game, the high only lasted a week because they lost to Missouri. At the time I was shocked, but in retrospect, the loss wasn't really an upset. Missouri had Kellen Winslow, James Wilder, Leo Lewis, Eric Wright, and four other future NFL players. I forget where Nebraska was in the polls after beating Oklahoma, but they still probably wouldn't have had a crack at the national title anyway. The Sugar Bowl was still going to be Alabama (who beat Nebraska the first game of the season) and undefeated Penn State, and the Rose Bowl was locked into Big 10 vs. Pac 10, so they wouldn't have had a shot at USC.
