Many "Mods" became "Casuals". The Jam are STILL Great and even the "Casuals" Loved them. Hence "A Town Called Malice" being used in the Films about "Casuals".

How in the world would this lady know what young people in the 60's would think of 80's mod revival bands?

Because she was a Mod in the 196O's herself. The lady dancing to the Yardbirds in the club scene from the film Blow Up, Janet Street Porter.

TV reporters always ask questions with zero imagination. They must select for these daft people. It couldn't be a coincidence.

1979 two tone and mod revival bands as a 12 year old I naturally blended into retro music and scooters in the North East . Setting sons were the club of the time, one of my first scooters was a vespa px 150 ex pete Smith custom quadraphinia, late for the sky side panels

Brings back memories! I was born in the US but spent three years of my childhood in the north of England in the early 70s and "It's A Knockout" was always one of my favorite TV/telly programs. I don't remember this particular episode but there's at least a halfway decent chance that I watched it when it was broadcast.

There's a video currently on 'BBC archive' about the mod revival of the late seventies and unlike this one not once is The Jam mentioned let alone given any credit to that movement

Yeah, the Nationwide clip finally on KZfaq. Great footage of Squire at The Bridge House on that one. Great clip and a must watch! Also, this LWT footage here was in colour, weird...

The Jam distanced themselves from the Mod Revival, however they will always be inextricably linked to it. As an aside i loved The Jam and Squire but I really couldn't be arsed with Secret Affair though, and I don't know why.

How I wish the BBC had kept the next heat between my home birth town Ashington Vs Blyth . Stuart Hall recalled it was the most ferociously contested contest of any Knockout he hosted. 😥
