The next gen goats should be Travis, JID, Denzel Curry. Guys like Carti don’t deserve to be compared to guys like Cole, Drake, or Kendrick, they are rappers, Carti just does drugs and makes noises over beats, it’s ridiculous how famous he is for how low quality and unintelligent the music is

honestly even though drake dropped 2 songs and kendrick dropped one, its 1-0 kendrick favor imo, push ups didnt really say much in terms of a diss other than kendrick was short and he might cuff kendricks girl. The Ai track drake dropped was so corny it distracted from the actual bars. euphoria overall has been way better in terms of a diss imo, it was punch line after punchline. Even tho kendrick didnt really say anything new in terms of what rap fans new it still had more substance than Drake's disses.

At this point Everyone taking turns saying the same thing about Drake. If Kendrick’s diss dropped 6-8 years ago it would’ve done major damage. Don’t get me wrong, Euphoria was a great song, it just didn’t feel all that there. Drake mentioned it in a lot of his songs that he’s “not bl**k enough.” and the ghostwriting bars are hella old. Drake has the upper hand based on the fact that Kendrick hasn’t had a real beef, so there might be things we don’t know that might be exposed. Whereas everything has already been said about Drake by almost everyone. It’s going to be really hard for Kendrick to come up with something original. Keep in mind that Kendrick literally just repeated what other rappers have said. Only reason it’s a big deal is because we’ve all been waiting for this beef. Also, Kendrick’s “I hate how you talk” etc. etc. bars are kinda childish. Euphoria was dope though. No hate

I'm curious to see where this beef goes from here. Drake has been certain in himself in the past and we all know how that went. I think Kendrick is going the Pusha T route in that, no matter who wins, Drake can never look at himself the same way ever again. I'm wondering if you think there's anything Drake can do that might have that effect on Kendrick, or if you think Kendrick is beyond that because of his more conscious style of rapping?
@zeniyuhh20 күн бұрын
Drakes next track needs to be a real heavy hitter to make whatever kendrick drops after less deadly. Drake can pontetially win by having a more contriversal moment and continue to point out flaws in Kendrick as an artist and his disses. I think he wins by dismantaling the idea that kendrick can just say anything and win. He needs to make people question Kendrick as "that guy" the "boogieman" he needs to make Kendrick look soft.
@datamale20 күн бұрын
@@zeniyuhh I think Kendrick's biggest strength is his authenticity, like he says in his diss he IS the culture, Drake is just a poser and an actor. Drake's best bet at winning is to have some serious dirt that pulls Kendrick's authenticity into question, as heartbreaking as that would be lol. He can't keep pre-emptively listing severe allegations against himself in order to deprive Kendrick of ammo, lmao.
@zeniyuhh20 күн бұрын
@@datamale I agree! Espically since kendrick didn't really touch on those alligations so it just makes it abit more awkward on drakes part now. Drake keeps alluding to some serious dirt so this next track really will decide the way the tides go

Wayne (who was the biggest rapper in the world in 2008 and 2009 til Drake dropped So Far Gone) was the one who passed the torch to Drake. Mind you Young Money was also the biggest rap group in Hip-hop at the time. People were buying their merch like G-Unit back in the day. Soon as I heard Drake, I knew he was different. Same to Cole when he dropped Who dat. Kendrick took some time to grow on me but GKMD was the one that cemented it 4 me. While I followed Tyler, Travis & Future back then, they still sounded more like "another rapper" as opposed to "The rappers" of that time. Big Sean and at one point B.O.B had more claim to the "up next" title than the aforementioned.

Hip-hop will never be the same, the only two after the big 3 I can think of are Future and maybe Nicki Minaj. Travis Scott is probably the last rap superstar we'll have for a long time. Hip-hop will likely branch off into more sub-genres, and rappers will be more labeled by their skill and commercial success than cultural impact.
