@@RetroZoltan my worry is the battery. I hope it's easily replaceable. Devices with lithium batteries should make their batteries easily replaceable by the user.

For some reason, the button to assign which emulator is being used in the bottom left corner is not showing up on mine. Is there a setting I'm missing?

That’s odd. It uses retroarch cores (mostly) so maybe, somehow they are missing? Did they work before, did you get this used perhaps? You may have to do a factory restart and start again (which would suck but that’s what I would do) they certainly should be there.

I could seriously never play on that. I don't even think I would put batteries in it. To be honest I would have never even turned it on. If I'm going to game on something it's going to be something substantial I'm not going to waste my time on a gimmick.

This isn’t a bad place to start if you are new to this sort of thing, but don’t expect too much from this handheld. Maybe SNES (at best) and down.

Ok does it power on at least? You see it trying to load up, correct? If so it sounds like your system SD (the internal) is corrupted. If you got it new I would send it back! If you got it used then i think you can reflash it? Something I haven’t tried yet!

Is there any way that the Anbernic Arc-D can play Sonic Mania? I read that people have gotten it to play with Portmaster, but it doesn’t seem to be compatible with the Arc-D. If that is out of the table, then maybe there is a way to get it to work on Android. For a Sega style handheld, I was hoping someone could do a Sonic Mania port for the Arc-D/Arc-S by now.

@@RetroZoltanToday, I was able to get Sonic Mania to run on the Arc-D with Portmaster! You need to run the Retro Arena custom firmware with the latest updates installed. Stock firmware will not work. The Data.rdsk file from Sonic Mania is also required. I’m very pleased to finally be able to play Sonic Mania on a Sega style handheld.

They are doing Pappy Speaks but I also am asking them to do the Zoltar version from the movie Big because it's very desired by people 30 to 60 years old give or take. This original looking one is great and known more so by people no longer alive. Releasing the one from the movie will be even more successful since it's in demand by people who are alive wanting one. 😊

New Wave Toys, please put out a second Zoltar to be the exact one in the movie Big because it's completely different than this inspired original looking one. People 30 to 60 years old "give or take" remember and love that version in the movie Big and want him. People who are no longer alive unfortunately will be the main ones who would know this version. That Big movie Zoltar version will be more popular & even more successful. I'd also love to see these at 15" if possible. Taller and wider. I'm looking forward to Pappy Speaks. 😊

The sound was really bad. Not noticeable on some systems but on a TV it was brutal to listen to.

Yes he looks like the original more so but then you said he is a miniature one from that movie. He doesn't look anything like the one in the movie because for example the eyes don't light up red and his beard and mustache is completely different. So you contradicted yourself there without meaning to I'm sure. I'm just surprised a bit because your channel is him and you're a big fan of this toy. So you should really be very clear with these things. Don't be in a big rush to upload. Always think, quality over quantity. Imagine if the new wave toys didn't go by Quality over quantity. We would all end up with crappy toys that way. I'm just trying to help you to have you get better and better at this. 😊

Also Dear New Wave Games, please do an actual replica of Zolar from the movie Big. A lot more people interested in this toy will want him over the original looking one since they know of that version and are between 30 to 60 years old give or take. The people who remember the original one you replicated are dead and gone unfortunately. So let's get the second version coming out next. 😊 The red lit up eyes with his different facial features, beard, mustache, box, items and clothes will be nostalgic to everyone seeking that exact version. 🙂

I just found a 3+ for $89. I really can't complain! The 2S is on sale so a 2+ is a hard sell right now unless you get it for 60-70 bucks.

sad BlackSeraph didn't do garlic os on this. Think he pretty much went to other more popular devices than this niche Nano. Would have been cool if he can hardware accelerate it by a bit just so taxing games like Tekken 3 won't be lagging.

@@RetroZoltan tekken 1 and 2 are pretty fine for this. Its just tekken 3 thats tanking (and from my exp, Bloody Roar 1 is smooth but Bloody Roar 2 isnt)

Zoltan, help me if you can. In your review you noted that you've seen a few of these Chinese console clones, so you may know the answer. For 10 years I've used something called a Uniscom T656 player, which was a video and music player from China and it had a lot of menus that are identical to the ones shown with the X12, X7 and X6 at least from what I'v seen in review videos like yours. But I only used it for the music player, it was perfect; crucially it had a User EQ, alongside more standard EQs like DBB, bass, classical etc. Please, if you've got these consoles handy, could you let me know if any of them have User EQ as an option in their music player? Believe me I've tried dedicated music players which are supposed to be better quality than Chinese clones, but they just can't achieve the same sound depth that the cheap Uniscom player could do, be it for organ pieces or 90s Swedish death metal demos.

Im afraid I have never heard or seen the Uniscom (or Unicom? T656 player). Do you have a picture of what it looks like? I mostly focus on games, so I haven’t paid much attention to the music capabilities too much, either. I’ll keep my eyes out though and will look though some of my inventory.

Hey brother great video, did installing rocknix fix your sound?? Mine went out as well when I updated jelos on my rk2023 and I haven't been able to figure it out as well! I thought I was the only one. I think I've tried Arkos but I don't think it fixed my sound it's been awhile and I forgot

Love my 2+ so much I bought a red clear shell 2 to swap the internals. Even have the right joystick mod. Got membrane swap for the dpad and ABXY. It's been one of my favorites. Don't think I'll ever sell it

@@RetroZoltan it's been a long while but I think it went GBC dpad membrane for the RP2+ ABXY and the DS lite ABXY membrane for for the RP2+ dpad. You can also flash lineage 19.1 onto it if you want a newer version of Android

What I remember most about the Retroid Pocket 2+ is the near three months it took for me to get it. I'd ordered on the 7th of January and didn't get it until the 28th of March. I learnt that year to never order anything even close to Chinese New Year. I also remember that apparently the 2+ was never meant to have existed. The 3 was sitting in warehouses waiting for fixes for its issues and so they needed to get something out quick. This of course also had the knock on effect of the 3 being released not long before the 3+ hit shelves.

I know this video is a few years old, but I just recieved this as a gift myself, and I'm a little unfamiliar with the emulation scene, how do I add games to this? Is it even possible to add GBA games to this as well or is that a bust? I really can't find any other information on this and you seem to know what you're doing, maybe I shouldn't be asking but I thought I'd give it a try!

I think I can help you. Although I don’t think GBA games would work well on this thing. If it came with an SD card, are you able to connect it to your PC? Have you tried that?

Yes that’s correct. Always the “games” folder and if it’s upgraded you can then have Su folders.
