Keep standard wheel and have them redone for now, potentially go second hand suspension there is some good sets out there right now. then i would go poly bushed and maybe a big brake kit second hand also will transform the way it drives.

Yeah I've looked at a set of RS Wheels. Do like them. I've seen a few sets of BC'a and B14's second hand but I'm not 100% sure. Don't want to spend £500-£700 and they turn out to be wrecked. 😝

Do you mean go into limp mode? If so no it didn't no lights on the dash just a bit of a pain to start when cold. Only got codes when plugged in. Apart from that it ran fine

Yep little bit of a pia but nothing a 5 min drive to Halfords couldn't sort. Look nice so only time will tell.

Legend. I wonder what health and safety would have to say about that today ! These were real characters of motocross. I respect today's riders for their ability and speed but compared to this era most of the riders today seem very sanitised and restricted in their behaviour and opinions e.t.c. Commitments to sponsors and media restrict today's top riders from being able to show their true personalities or give honest opinions in interviews and such like. No one is to blame , it's just a case of different times. I'm just glad I was able to witness the 500 motocross GP'S in their prime , screaming 2 strokes ridden by amazing riders and characters. R.I.P Carla , Malherbe , Geboers and Jobe , you gave us some amazing racing to enjoy.

Picked one up couple years ago for £2k. 80k miles. Put in rs clutch flywheel release bearing, new boost solenoid, new recirc valve as diaphragm was split, new coolant hoses as they were all ballooned. Car had a map on it and after fixing everything it boosted so hard 😁 sold for 4.5k didn't keep it long, quick flip. Rs clutch complete I paid £100 because the fool thought it was standard clutch 😂 he had it for less than 500 miles. The clutch still had factory paint stamps on the friction plate. Driveshafts were surprisingly perfect and changed wishbones as they always need changing 😂

Right now I think that’s the plan. Get the bodywork right. Small bit of work on the engine and maybe some subtle improvements to the chassis. But I don’t think I’m going to go over the top on this one.

So maybe an intercooler upgrade and cat back exhaust with a small remap? Anything you would suggest handling wise?

I recently replaced all rear suspension arms etc with standard, handling wise mine is original but will be fitting lowering springs this summer. Upgraded engine mounts stiffened up the whole feel of the engine and RS clutch n flywheel has immense grip.

So what I think happened is I didn't degrease anything, and though it may have only been a very slim crack i think some road grime/crud/oil must have been inside. So when that caught alight the paint started to catch also.
