Diviciacus was Dumnorix's elder brother and a greater druid of the Aedui gauls, he was a influential diplomatic medium between his tribe and the Roman republic. The lyrics is written for him. In Gaulish wars the Aedui were almost always allied with the Roman republic and dispatched foot soldiers and riders to assist Caesar's legions in a series of battles. Diviciacus wanted to solve the tension between the two political entities in a more peaceful way so as to purport the Roman dominion/imperium for the greater good, while keeping the regional equilibrium, however this way was supposed to be a minion-like way not only perceived by the bystander but also by himself. Eluveitie of course know of this plot clearly, they mixed, intertwined, interwove their interpretation of the historical anecdote with traditional Celtic folk melody and ferocious metal riffs into one flawless fabric, this piece of music is a relic and how awesomeness is defined.

Nice 666 likes right now. I can't destroy this picture, lol. Song is absolutely fucking amazing imo, seems quite underrated somehow. It's a very nice change to the somewhat overused ordinary "yo, we are Gaul, Rome wrecked our shit, let's spew insults at them because that's all we can do, we are the best etc." lyrics. Well, I still do like Eluveitie a lot after all, don't get me wrong. My favorite songs just happen to be the ones that actually tell some stories using lyrics AND music in smart ways instead of being, you know, "just some metal".
