@@keddesmart125 Do you have to book a place or can you just turn up?
@keddesmart125Ай бұрын
To my knowledge it is kind of organized chaos, but I dont think you have to book and if you arrive in a truck you'll just park beside all the other trucks in the parking lot. If you bring stationary engines you should probably come the day before as there is also ususally a nice little gettogether the evening before the show. There is always use for a helping hand in the last few days up to the meet and if i recall correctly they used to have a deal with a local bed'n breakfast just a few hundred meters down the road if you contact them in advance.

Amazing collection of engines, some makes i've never heard of. Makes a change from Lister D s and similar in the UK. I see Yamaha Fissys are popular in Denmark as well. Looks like you have some interesting videos to watch, so I have just subscribed.
@keddesmart125Ай бұрын
Greetings Robert, thanks for the sub. I agree the engine collection is really special and the restorations are top notch. On that day the museum was so crowded that I could not film properly inside, so I may go and make a part 2 on a day with less visitors, to get a proper look at the engines. I worked there as a volunteer and have a major stake in the making of the Field Marshall/Fowler VF Crawler.

Hello Transalpers. I forgot to mention a detail about the gearbox on the old Alp. Generally the 5 -speed gearbox is very slick and tight, but if you are sloppy on the downshift you will find that false neutral between 5th and 4th gear or is it between 4th and 3rd - can't quite remember which one it is now 🙂

Hi,Keddi, John from Ireland,I have a pd06 1997 mod, i totally repaired the thing as was abused by former owners,I replaced the gearbox, wheels and wireing loom, etc, had the carbs sonically cleaned and set up by an expert, but it still popps on the over run,did everything to enrichen the mix,still no good,any tips??
@keddesmart125Ай бұрын
Great to hear you saved the old Transalp. How many turns are you're mixture screws out?If you are 4 turns out, maybe try like 6-7 turns out, just to see if the mixture screws have any effect, if not something is clogged up. Since popping is lean mixture, have you double checked all intake rubbers, airfilter etc, to confirm there is no air leak? If there is an air leak on the intake it is more serious as it will also lean out the mixture at high revs, causing possible engine death. Let me know what you find out.

6 cylinder engine ?
@keddesmart1252 ай бұрын
No, it is a 4 cylinder engine just like the original. However from the engine number we see the original engine was changed in 1976 to an "Industri Motor", but with same specs as the original. The loader build year is 1964. By the way, I sold the Fordson yesterday.

Thanks. I guess that's about the wear limit for the stock clutch, if you listen closely you'll actually hear my clutch slipping in some parts of the footage and I have exactly 72,768km on the odometer. Waiting for replacement clutch discs and slightly heavier springs to drop in the mail. Cheers.

Thanks a lot mate, I'm still learning how to make videos, but this is the first one that I really put some hours and effort into. About 1½ month from I started the script to the finished video - largely due to endless rain, making it hard to capture proper footage. The fuel cap mystery is hidden somewhere in the user manual, but not a very clever design feature. Best of luck with your '87 Alp - Great bike :-)

Im about to buy a dominator exhaust for my XL650V, do you have the DB killer on or off and which model is your exhaust, im thinking between the oval one 130mm x 100mm or the round one 115mm x 115mm
@keddesmart1253 ай бұрын
Mine is the round one. I run without the Db killer for two reasons. One; it sounds very farty with the db killer installed. Two; The standard jetting fits better for no db killer - if i mount the db killer it has some lag when twisting the throttle. I'm very happy with the Dominator :-)

With a proper battery and a tractor in fair condition a major will start in all normal cold conditions. Ask any farmer in Aberdeenshire who had one in the fifties , sixties or early seventies. Even now my one will start well.
