Since I've been keeping track of my bourbon about 10% are bottles I will not buy again.

Leopold Bros 3-Chambers Rye. Love the story. Should be a great pour. Spent way more than I should have to try a bottle. Tastes like medium aged vomit.

Great video judge. Ive got an opportunity to trade for both bottles for 1 Rock Hill Farms plus a little cash. Would you recommend doing it. I wont find either bottle at local stores.

For me, my biggest disappointment was Ben holidays bottle and bond the soft wheat. I tried it three times and it is now sitting way in the back of a cabinet. I even tried mixing it. It still did not fit my pallet at all.

Yeah, I guess that's how it goes when you are dealing with consumables. Everybody's senses of taste and smell are different. I dropped nearly 120 bones on Widow Jane Decadence, expecting to be blown away with maple syrup essence - big old nope. I don't pick it up at all. Elijah Craig Small Batch is pretty universally enjoyed and it just doesn't work for me. Same with Woodford's profile, doesn't jive with me at all. Different strokes! Cheers Judge!

It must be bad. You left whiskey in the glass. I've been more disappointed with some single malt scotches. So far I've been lucky with the bourbons I've bought.

Yep, that’s happened to me twice…Laws four grain and Wilderness Trail single barrel (bourbon I think). Granted, single barrels can be hit or miss… Oh, wait, there was a third…erg, can’t remember the name, but it was a rye (which I usually like).

Interesting...i've been eyeing this brand for a while, but haven't pulled the trigger. Two of my most notable disappoiments have been entry level bottles from brands I love. One is Garrison Brothers Small Batch. The Cowboy and Balmo are among my all time favorites. But I found the Small Batch to be harsh. Same with the early Bardstown Fusion releases. I love the Disco and their finished products, but the Fusion, up until at least five, always tasted young.

Never heard of this bottle or brand. For me, Calumet 16 and Sam Houston 15 were the ones that I relied on KZfaq reviewers recommendations, and ended up massively disappointed (bourbon ages 12 years seems to be the max for me, before diminishing returns on taste).

Never heard of it, or maybe I forgot about it. Not on my radar. IDK, a lot of disappointments but can't think of them off the top of my head. Still Austin Cask Strength is the latest.

I picked up a NH state pick of Lux Row’s Rebel Distillers Collection and it just hasn’t fit my palate yet. I’ve went back to it a few times over the past 6 months and it just hasn’t hit. It’s not bad by any means but for me it just isn’t working out. I enjoy a good wheater but this once isn’t for me.

I was a little disappointed by Bardstown’s small batch Stave finished. Compared to so many of their releases it was just ok.

For me 1792 Sweat Wheat was a disappointment. I was so excited to get a bottle at MSRP. It was okay, but I was expecting it to be better. 🥃

Glenn’s Creek is so dang good. I can’t wait to go back in October. I’m gonna stock up!

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion here, but for me the one notable "didn't live up to expectations" bottle over the past year or so was K.Luke Batch 7. That one got a lot of praise (including from you I think 😄) and it just didn't wow me. Is it good? Yeah, I guess. But $110 and hyped good? No. And it came in last in 2 blinds against other proofy bourbons, which included hitters but also some less expensive bottles (e.g., Heaven's Door SiB). To me it tastes very dark, with a bit of a grainy edge that seems a little crafty. Okay, but it's not my jam for sure.

Sounds like something Erin from Stuff & Whiskey might enjoy - she likes earthy things. Not my sort of bourbon either.

Just picked up a bottle of the bottle in Bond soft red wheat and it was fantastic. I just happened to find a store near me that carries the Rickhouse proof so I grabbed a bottle today. Thank you for the great reviews

I grabbed a bottle of their 5 year rye in a Seelbachs case sale, it grew on me, but I made several rye & gingers as well

Past disappointments, Old Foster The Statesman and Rabbit Hole Derringer. For their cost, or for that matter, at any cost, both were a major disappointment! Now on the other hand, more recent pleasant surprises, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Bourbon and Brother's Bond Cask Strength. Each fetching $75 - $80 before taxes. Each have an outstanding balance of flavor and a great finishing experience! Great show as always! Cheers!

Green River didn't blow my hair back. It was at best meh. I'm hesitant to get the full proof. I will give their other bottles a try at the price point and being a big wheater and rye guy. I do hear the rye is pretty good. Just don't understand the hype now Bardstown is a great brand hopefully they do something special with Green river. And your right every palate is different.

Got a sample of the regular Glenn’s Creek OCD and was not a fan. Wasn’t bad, just didn’t hit my palate very well. Cheers
